Duane E. Kangas, 38, was last seen leaving the Krist Food Mart at 824 Shelden Avenue, in Houghton, on Tuesday, Nov. 7 at approximately 1 p.m. He left his vehicle, a black 1996 Oldsmobile Bravada, with Michigan registration DVG3231. Kangas is a white man, who weighs 175 pounds and is 5 feet, 8 inches tall. He has long brown hair, brown eyes, and several tattoos on his back and arms.

After looking around FB and what is posted there about the case, I think it's a typo and he left IN the vehicle. Both Duane and the vehicle are missing, as far as I can tell.

Still missing. There is a "Help Find" Facebook page for Duane. There isn't much activity there, but a few interesting comments.

My first hunch is that he was in an accident and drove off the road into a ditch/ravine/water.

In that area, it's a possibility. It could also be a voluntary disappearance, though. Time will tell.

One of his friends told me that the back of his head was bashed in and that he was murdered. I guess we'll find out when they release the autopsy reports. They found the car in the canal, btw. The window was smashed.
