Cause of death, ID still unknown for man whose body was found in woods
FLINT, MI -- Investigators are still trying to determine what happened to a man whose body was found on the city's south side.
While police have been able to determine the decomposing body was a man -- the cause and manner of death and the man's identity have not yet been determined by police, according to Michigan State Police Spokesman Lt. Dave Kaiser.
Officers were dispatched around 9:15 p.m. on Sunday, May 27, to a wooded area near Lippincott Boulevard and Barks Street for a report of a deceased person.
Kaiser said a man was out walking a dog near a trail when the dog discovered the decomposing body.
The wooded area where the body was found is near where the Thread Creek meets Thread Lake.
The body had extensive decomposition, police previously said.
