Robert said he was trying to get back to Michigan as soon as he could. He thinks he arrived back Jan. 27.
He said he went to the home on Middlesex.
Robert testified there were a lot of people there.
Robert testified that his father told him that when his mother was missing he was at one of his rental properties on Mack.
Robert said his father told him that he went home to grab his keys, that's when he noticed that Jane Bashara still wasn't home.
Robert testified his father went back to the rental property after he got the keys.
Robert testified that at the time he didn't think his father was having affairs.
Robert testified that affairs were brought up, his father said no.
He said that he learned there were allegations his father had affairs.
Robert said he heard while he was in Michigan before he went back to Iowa.
Robert said he talked to his father about it.
Robert said his father said he had not had relations with these women.
Robert testified that he has heard the name Venita Porter.
He said he knows her through church.
Moran asked about an unusual Christmas gift she had given to Bashara in 2011. Robert testified that it was a shirt and a pair of pants.
Robert said it was unusual from someone he didn't know that well. He said he saw the gift after his father opened it.
Robert testified that he, his sister and mother were there when Bashara opened the gift.
Venita Porter is the woman who said she lived in Bashara's sex dungeon.

She said that her freshman year of college, her father told her he and her mother had entered marriage counseling.

My heart is breaking for this girl. The worry that was put upon her at such a young age (but not young enough). What I mean is, she was old enough to become curious and to feel/know the icky of her dad's behavior. He had the nerve to suggest to his daughter his problem might be her mom's fault - unbelievable and shows what a selfish person he is down to his core imo.

Robert testified that he doesn't remember meeting Gillett before his mother was killed.
Robert testified that when he was in town, he heard the name Joseph Gentz.
He said his father never said anything to him about Gentz.
Robert said he was aware of financial strains. He said he knew there were some rental properties losing money.
Robert said his mother was organized, but his father wasn't. "More of an organized chaos," he said.
Robert said he was aware of his father borrowing money from his mother.
