I hope they all get the max. The behavior in court was beyond belief, defendants, family and friends.

Mohr said Utash, who appeared last week to be recovering from his injuries after he’d been in a medically induced coma for nearly two weeks, has taken a bad turn.

“We thought he was starting to come back out of it, but he’s not,” Mohr said.

“He ain’t the Steve I know. The family ... they’re messed up. Steve’s out of it; he wakes up and thinks he’s a train conductor. He thinks he hit the kid with an airplane. He’s awake but he’s not understanding what’s going on.”

This is absolutely disgusting.

From above link....
A group whose members described themselves as relatives of the defendants laughed when Assistant Wayne County Prosecutor Lisa Lindsey read aloud Saffold’s description of how the mob kicked and punched Utash.

Why wasn't this entire group removed from the courtroom?

Man charged in Utash beating takes plea deal, agrees to testify

Tony Briscoe/The Detroit News

Detroit — Despite receiving threats, one of the four men accused in the brutal beating of Clinton Township motorist Steven Utash in April has taken a plea deal with prosecutors and agreed to testify against the other defendants.

This is shocking. How horrible for the man and his family. I agree, it is race related. It is a problem in every country in this world. How they beat a poor defenceless man, and without a care in the world. And to laugh about it in court?! what is this world coming to??
