HLN just confirmed that the DNA testing was done and it was Nevaeh's body.

HLN just had a blip that the body has been positively ID'ed as Navaeh's.

Confused here, I thought that she met GK at the probation office? I agree, if she was on probation, why can't she be charged with violating the probation by letting a SO around her daughter?

She is not on probation.
She served her full sentence, on the minimum end.
George says he has known her for two years, someone said they met at the parole office, but she was in jail from 12-06 to 01-26-09, crime commited in 8-06, so as usual the timeline does not add up.

I don't see how the DNA would inpede the arrest.

I don't think it will.

Yesterday I read they won't release the COD until after they have confirmed the ID.

Maybe that is the next thing we will learn!

Hi Sandcastles, The links say she was so badly decomposed they would not want the family to ID her in person.

Mr Bickley also said he pressed on the skin and it popped back up. That would tell me she was at the end of Stage 3 of decomposition which is bloating with gasses, or putrification. xox

I thought he said he pressed on the concrete and the block itself bobbed up and down, that you could tell there was pressure underneath it and that when he chipped away the part that revealed skin they hightailed it out of there.

Hmm, I didn't get that from the link I read, but there are probably several variations and many links of Mr Bickley's interviews. xox

PS: I'm on lunch or I'd go find it.

It's common in Michigan for the courts to order a pre-sentencing report in which a defendant meets with a parole officer who then makes recommendations for sentencing. She could have met GK at the parole office before going to prison.

Kat - I think he knew Nevaeh and perhaps was grooming her, only to lose out over and over again. Maybe he missed snatching his prey many times and this time, he wasn't going to mess around. It's hard for me to think he cemented Nevaeh our of love and caring, but since he's not the typical pedohile, he may have done just that.

I don't think he is this complex personally. I think he knew he would be an immediate suspect and spent more time hiding the body than your average pedophile because his only hope was to not have the body found. His choice of location and the way he did the cement is moronic, but I wouldn't have really expected more.

Hi Scandi
I don't think he pressed down on the skin? I believe he stated he pressed down on the cement and it popped back up from what he determined to be some type of pressure. The mom and grandmother are stating they want to see her one last time no matter what. I wonder if it will be allowed? :waitasec:

BICKLEY: The flies just started getting terrible, and they were landing on me. I was shaking them off. And then I saw them landing on the ground down where the concrete had cracked by me walking about while I pushed down into the cracks and it went down and came right back up as if there was some kind of pressure beneath the concrete.

I then proceeded to scrape the little chunks that had cracked off with my toe, and that`s when a small area of skin was visible to both myself and my father. I didn`t want it to be the child.

It's been said locally here that 3 different funeral homes have offered to provide a free funeral for Navaeh...also, the grandma from hell was on TV stating the SHE is going to view the body she said, "I'm going to view the body, I won't believe it til I see that that's my baby."

I'm totally at a loss as to why you would refer to a grieving grandmother in such a manner. :waitasec:

I don't think they have the right to tell you no if you are next of kin. They can strongly discourage you and they can decline to use your ID of the remains as official IDing, but I think they have to let you view the remains.

When my MIL was murdered it was closed casket due to the trauma to her her head and face, the funeral director said he would not allow anyone to view the remains in his facility and said if anyone felt that strongly about it they would need to arrange to view them at the coroners office (only the suspect wanted to view the remains, I think the director would have allowed the son's who did not make the request, but that is an assumption).

I'm totally at a loss as to why you'd question something as simple as this. We all perceive things in our own way. So what if we don't all see a grieving gram?

According to local news on WDIV, both GK and RS going back to prison for violating probation. There has been no notification when Nevaeh's body will be released to the family.

at the beginning of the NG interview, she said the body was not identified yet and was unidentifiable (not exact quote) and that nobody has seen the body was it is too decomposed, too bad to view. That they can't get DNA...but they can get it from hair, and they probably have dental records of some type. so that makes no sense.

What about the beer bottle...boy, I hope that has DNA on it and fingerprints! Hope they are checking for purchases of cement around the area too.
The lady that was with the mom during the interview seemed like she couldn't have cared less too. Was that her mother?

As for the beer can; even if there are prints on it LE will not just assume that it is the murderers' fingerprints. There would have to be other indicators pointing toward that person as well, IMO, for LE to even begin to think that the prints and/or DNA belonged to the murderer. It could just be an attempt to frame someone.

"I'm completely innocent," said the girl’s mother, Jennifer Buchanan. "I didn't have anything to do with my daughter's disappearance. I don't do drugs. I hardly ever drink. I don't owe anybody any money. I have hardly any enemies."I don't understand who would come up and take my child."

Seriously???? Im not even going to start the JB bashing again today...

BBM
Well, she has enemies now after so many people knowing that she did not exercise even minimal care for Nevaeh.

That's what I'm thinking. How convenient to pick up a stray beer can and toss it in, if not to frame, then certainly to create a wild goose chase!

I feel sorry for Mr. Bickley and his Dad. It was such a traumatic experience and one that will haunt them forever.

LE and the FBI will have to investigate both of them and look into their timeline on the day and shortly after Nevaeh was found to be missing. It is just SOP because the murderer has also been known to 'find' a missing child or person's body. Mr. Bickley has shown more emotion than JB over her daughter. He and his Dad seem to be nice people. Wonder why there has not been an article or any mention of Mr. Bickley and his Dad getting the reward? Does anyone know how the reward was worded?

$20,000 is quite a large amount and they deserve it, IMO.
