My group, Justice for Nevaeh, was invited to the Michigan Missing Person's event. It was a wonderful event. Here's a photo of our presentation:

If they do this again next year, they need to do a better job of promoting it. I did not hear about it at all on the news or radio. This is the first I heard about it.

The plan is to have them every year. I will let the organizers know your concern. With these events, promotion is KEY. Thanks!

Hi everyone! On May 27, 2011, Justice for Nevaeh held two Dedication Ceremonies in Nevaeh's Honor. In the first Ceremony, we planted a Flowering Apple Tree at Riverside Early Learning Center. The tree was planted outside of Nevaeh's preschool teacher's classroom. She asked that we place it there because of the special place Nevaeh holds in her heart. We chose the flowering apple tree because of its theme--Love and Healing.

At the second Ceremony, we dedicated Nevaeh's Playscape--a wonderful new play area for small children. It has swings, a slide, a sandbox, a teeter-totter, and a parent area where parents can keep and eye on their little ones.

Photos of the ceremonies can be found here:

Thanks!

Saturday, June 4th, marked two years that Neveah's battered little body was found buried in a concrete tomb on the banks of the River Raisin in Monroe, Michigan.

Will the murderer of this beautiful young angel ever be brought to justice?

Remembering you today and always, Neveah.

Praying for justice for Nevaeh.

Just breaks my heart that no one has been charged for this crime yet.

Thinking of you always Nevaeh.

500 kids attend memorial Christmas party for Nevaeh Buchanan

MONROE, MI (WTOL) - A memorial Christmas party for Nevaeh Buchanan was attended by 500 children Sunday night.

The group Justice for Nevaeh organized the event for the little girl who was murdered more than two years ago.

The children sang Christmas carols, had lunch and played games to honor her memory.

There was also an identification registry set up for children, so authorities have their identification information should they ever come up missing.

"We're asking that parents read to their children 30 minutes each week." says Risa Smith of the group Justice for Nevaeh.

It's part of a nationwide program called Reading Train Reading Program, kids earn Nevaeh dollars that can be exchanged for prizes.
