justnosey, I'm with you all the way! Well said.

Let's just hope that the relative silence on the part of the Ann Arbor Police (and any other LE, including military) in the last several weeks means they're busy collecting evidence (maybe even with a possible perp in mind). I feel SO bad for this family, given the circumstances ...

What's worse than having your son murdered? Ah--can you read between the lines?

JMO, of course.

Please don't turn this thread into debate about guns.

Let's try to stay away from starting up conversations about gun laws, shall we. If a criminal wants to kill someone they will do it and find a way or means to do so.

Ann Arbor police: 2 hurt in knife incident at U-M frat party

Kim Kozlowski /The Detroit News

Ann Arbor police have arrested a suspect following an altercation involving a knife and two University of Michigan students during a Halloween party at a fraternity house.

The suspect, a 21-year-old male from Monroe, was an uninvited guest along with three others at a large party held Thursday at Sigma Alpha Epsilon house, said Ann Arbor Police Lt. Robert Pfannes...

My intuition tells me that the perp who shot Paul DeWolf in the neck is a much more personal attack and that he's not connected to the other stabbing/murderous perps of other students in MI.

Thank goodness there is a break in the case. I hope these 3 never see the light of day again. For the pain they caused Paul and his family and the thousands of patients he would have helped in his life.

So if they didn't know him, what could be the motive? Robbery gone bad?

"DeWolf’s death appears to have been the result of a home invasion gone wrong."

(per JustNosey's news link above)

And, I wonder if these three were involved in the robbery (or attempted robbery... sorry, can't remember the exact details) mentioned in Fran's post on page 1 of this thread??

**I found the news report re: break-in at neighbor's home:

http://www.woodtv.com/news/local/se-mich/autopsy-for-u-m-student-gunshot-wound

Neighbors told 24 Hour News 8 on Friday they remain concerned.

"It was very surprising, this is a really safe neighborhood and we have never had any problems before," said Katie Endahl, who lives next door to where DeWolf's body was found.

The home were DeWolf's body was found is very large and 24 Hour News 8 was told a lot of people live there. Neighbors Endahl and roommate Gabriela Granads said they are shocked.

"Shocked, because it is such a quite peaceful neighborhood you don't really hear anything about robberies or homicides or anything like that," Granadas said.

The roommates are also concerned because on the same day DeWolf's body was found, their home was broken into.

"We had our break-in around the same time and the fact that nothing really happens around here like that, so its a bit concerning," Granadas said.

Burglary gone bad was my main theory from the start (not that burglary can ever go good). So senseless.

I am so curious about who they arrested!?! Wow! Great news for family and friends of Paul.

From The Detroit News: http://www.detroitnews.com/article/20131107/METRO06/311070132#ixzz2k19gExlr

Also from the above article:

"The suspects, who have yet to be charged while police continue to gather evidence, aren’t believed to be associates of DeWolf.

“There does not appear to be any previous affiliation between the suspects and Paul DeWolf nor any connection with the University of Michigan or the U.S. Air Force,”
Ann Arbor Police Chief John Seto said in a statement on Thursday."

So glad to hear that none of the murderers are DeWolf's relatives/friends. Hope the evidence convicts all of them.

:loveyou: God bless the DeWolf family!

Mine too. Paul seemed like such a great guy it had to be home invasion.

Fun times killing white college kids?

The "robbery" thing doesn't fit with his apartment being undisturbed.

Reading between the lines, this sounds extremely ugly. Almost gang related.

He could have interrupted the robbery. Or they walked in on him expecting to find an empty apartment. Shot him and run off.

Wow! I was just thinking of Paul this morning...

I assumed it was going to a cold case...

This shows me not to give up so soon...

I hope justice is served.... As it sounds it will be...

RIP, Paul...

:praying: for those that love him...

Two of the suspects were arrested in South Carolina.
A 20 and 21 year old.... an Ann Arbor taxi cab business card, a University of Michigan cup and other items were found in the 20-year-old man’s home after he was arrested.

The 21 yr old was found by a tip and was in possession of 2 stolen hand guns.

Acting on a search warrant, officials seized the taxi cab business card, U-M cup, a laptop, gray backpack, pair of shoes, phone charger, two cell phones and the car, the report said.

Sounds like they may have had Paul's phone and laptop...or there is evidence on their phones/laptop...shoes might have blood as in bloody foot prints at scene.
