17-year-old Penelope "Penny" Wise was last observed on camera near the Corner Bar in the city of Rockford around midnight on July 1.

3 hour walk, 14 minute drive. Seen at midnight. I wonder if she was alone or in the company of another individual. Seems she is not yet ready to go home. :(

*The Kent County Sheriff's Office shared Wednesday that Penelope was last seen walking alone near the Corner Bar in Rockford on June 1.

"That's the last video that we know of that exists right now, and that's why we're really hoping, again, like we asked her earlier, that maybe the community can look at the ring cameras, the surveillance cameras they have anything on their property in that time frame that she's been missing, and report that information back to us," said Bryan Muir, Kent County Under Sheriff.

The Sheriff's Office will not release the footage, as they said it might confuse viewers as to what color Penelope's clothes were. They emphasize she was last seen wearing a pink tank top and blue jeans.

"We're focusing on the Rockford area, because that's the last known place that we had, and that's the most obvious place we're going to start looking, but we know she had the propensity to talk to strangers. There's maybe a chance that she got a ride out of the immediate area, and we're just not searching in the right spot right now," said Under Sheriff Muir.

CEDAR SPRINGS, Mich. (WOOD) — Six weeks after their daughter vanished, David and Mishael Wise said hope that she will be found safe is dwindling.

“Every day, it just feels like, ‘This can’t be still happening,'” said David Wise in an interview with Target 8 Friday morning.

When asked if she believes her daughter, Penelope, is okay, Mishael Wise answered softly, “No. I don’t. Just because I don’t think she’d stay away voluntarily.”...

"Penny is definitely more than just a missing teenager, more than just a missing person, she is our daughter,” Mishael said. "We love her, we miss her. We are hopeful that they will find something, but we are not confident that they will because it's been so long."

During the search, officials looked through acres of covered wooded areas and used search dogs and drones.

"The effort is all-inclusive, it's an effort to find anything, any kind of evidence,” Kent County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Jason Kelley said. "Any kind of evidence to locate her."

Her mother said it's not the first time she's left home, but it's the first time she's been missing for this long. Wherever she may be, her mother shares this message for her daughter:

"Love you, Penny, we want you to reach out, we just need to hear something from you, even if it is that you're staying hidden,” Mishael said. "We love you and we just need you to reach out." ❤️

Several Kent County Sheriff’s Office deputies will be in the Rockford area Saturday, July 13 to continue the search for a teenager who has been missing for over a month.

Rockford residents will see an increased police presence Saturday but the sheriff’s office said this is not a development of new information rather a continuation of the ongoing investigation.
