I know they can ask media not to report, but I hate to see this become a trend...JMO
Ok, well, I just called and spoke to a gal in the news department at WWMT Channel 3 in Kalamazoo. I asked why there had not been any new reports from them regarding the disappearance of VS. She says that each day they contact MSP for any updates and that each day they are told there is nothing new to report. She also told me that the truck is still NOT back in Michigan, and I said, "are you serious?" and she said, yes, it's not back in Michigan yet. I said, I can't believe that." I also asked her about under what circumstances an online article is written and then half of the information in that article is later revised and deleted, what would be a circumstance where that would occur and she said it is highly uncommon and only happens when LE retracts some of the information they originally provided in a media report after the fact.
So there you have it. She suggested talking to the person who puts the articles online to be more specific, but I had to get going...
FWIW
I find that odd too!thesaint said:LE is one thing, the media another, but what about Venus' family--have they said anything recently?

Her father went from being very vocal to very silent.
My hero! :toast:
Why do I get the feeling that LE isn't all that concerned about the truck?
His daughter is still missing.Natal said:I'm sure he is still vocal, but there are just no reporters around anymore to be vocal to so you don't hear about it.
Doug, or someone impersonating him, is due in court today. Maybe the media will report about it...or, maybe not.

I'm sorry, but that makes no sense at all.
If this is to be our standard, why not just dispense of our criminal Court system altogether (and repeal a few amendments while we're at it)?
I'm not saying Doug doesn't have the right to show up or file for custody of his daughters. However, considering the circumstances, especially since it appears the reason Venus was abducted was so he could regain full legal custody of his daughters, it is pretty outlandish that he has the nerve to file for custody much less appear in court after the judge and public have learned Doug enlisted someone to pose as him so he could be in Michigan undetected during the time Venus was apparently abducted.
The hearing today is in the family court which has nothing to do with criminal law.
OK. I withdraw my statement that I believe Doug Stewart is insane. Instead, I will call him a fool! All I know is I sure wouldn't have the guts to show up to court if I was in his shoes! I wouldn't even want to leave the house. That's just me.
I realize there are people who have something in them that allows them to believe they can fool everyone. And, it is clear Doug thought he could do just that when he enlisted the imposter.
I am not saying Doug is criminally insane. I am saying that it is just plain crazy for him to go to court today thinking there is a remote possibility that the judge would grant his petition for full custody of the girls after what law enforcement has learned about the imposter as well as the fact they verified it was Doug who purchased the tarp, hat, gloves and shovel along with being able to absolutely place him in Michigan on the day Venus disappeared.

And, let us not forget he is the ONLY POI in this case! (according to LE)
