The search continues for William Ellis, a 25-year-old man who walked away from a Wyandotte medical facility on Nov. 21.
Deputy Police Chief Archie Hamilton said the missing mans father reported him missing the following day.
Our detectives have been diligently working the case and our patrol officers have been exhaustively searching the city for Mr. Ellis, Hamilton said. We entered Mr. Ellis in the Law Enforcement Information Network database as an endangered missing.
Additionally, a report has been submitted to the Detroit Metropolitan Intelligence Group, which will notify all police departments in southeast Michigan.
Angela Ellis Weedon, who identified herself as the missing mans sister, posted in the Crime Stoppers of Michigan Facebook page that her family is distraught over her brothers disappearance.
He was being treated for hypothermia, and he left the hospital without clothes or money or ID, she stated in her post. He is very unwell and we fear the worst.
Weedon stated that he could be in a shelter or on the streets. She said he has not been back to his apartment and none of his friends or acquaintances have seen him.
She described her brother as 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing less than 115 pounds. He has sandy brown hair and brown eyes. His sister said he is a vegan and could be near health food stores or restaurants in the area.
