A mother and her live-in boyfriend will face a jury trial in the death of a 13-month old boy.

Lisa Marie Reed and James Edward Gibson Jr., of Ecorse, are scheduled to stand trial Oct. 22 in the death of Zyaire Reed.

Reed is the baby’s mother, but Gibson is not the father of the child.

Both are facing a first-degree child abuse charge.

In addition to that, Gibson has been charged with first-degree murder, and Reed with second-degree murder.
