RCMP are asking for the public’s help to find missing 41-year-old Kamloops man.

Michael Scott has not been seen or heard from since Sept. 2, and was reported missing to police on Sept. 7, according to an RCMP media release issued, Sept. 10.

RCMP have received tips about Scott’s possible whereabouts but they’ve yet to locate him and confirm his wellbeing.

The blue Dodge Ram pickup truck Scott was driving was found near the Red Bridge in possession of two people on Sept. 5, RCMP said. As part of an impaired by drugs investigation it was impounded but no information about the missing man’s whereabouts was obtained.

RCMP describe Scott as a 41-year-old Caucasian male, 5’9” tall, 160 lb. with brown hair and brown facial hair and brown eyes. He was a tattoo on his right forearm. He was last seen wearing a white blanket around his shoulders, a black T-shirt, sweat pants and white shoes.

Anyone who has information related to the missing person’s whereabouts is asked to call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2024-29755.

“He’s very friendly, he’s very helpful and gets along with everyone. He loves me and loves his son, always trying to be there for us, and is amazing with my family in Bangladesh."

RCMP say the body of 41-year-old Michael Scott was found in a rural area of Kamloops on Friday (Sept. 20).

In a news release issued Tuesday (Sept. 24) morning, police say Southeast District Major Crime Unit is determining whether Scott’s death is the result of foul play.

The body of a missing Kamloops man has been discovered in the Strawberry Hill area, and police are investigating to determine whether foul play was involved.

“Investigators are working to determine Scott’s movements from Sept. 3, 2024, up until Sept. 20, 2024, in an effort to determine his activities prior to his death,” RCMP Staff Sgt. Jason Smart said in the release.

It is strange, it is a ca. 25 mins drive from Red Bridge. If they went there to dispose of the body, there are more nearby places to do so. So maybe he drove there himself , met foul play there or took his life, the two people then took the car (or found it open and stole it) and were heading back to Kamloops centre when they were stopped on Red Bridge.
The fire destroying the Bridge is however too much of a coincidence, hinting at evidence destruction (drugs, murder, ??)
