I'm not good with timelines. Wasn't Hilton tied up with Meredith'a crime at the time? She was kept alive until Jan. 4th, right?

ETA: OK, found a better news story which says that Bywater went missing on Dec. 29th. So, theoretically, yes, he could have killed both, if his MO in Bywater's case was different ( not holding her captive for days).
 
lol, schulzan, someone beat us to it. Good find. Dogs do seem to be a common theme. I still wonder where Hilton got Dandy from and how long he's had him.

I briefly did a search for missing golden retrievers in the area..but missing dogs aren't as talked about as missing people :)
but that should be something the police look into...

2) From the poster on GretaWire who did his own sleuthing (b/c it was 500 yrds from his house) and found the abandoned house where he was keeping her, it looked like there were food and drink items in the house. Dr. Pepper, "Natural Organics" in a yellow sack, and wet wipes. Could it be that he actually got those things for her while holding her? Did he get the wet wipes so she could potty? There was dog feces inside the house according to the poster...thus, they likely didn't go outside to relieve (anyone). The shirts found with blood were likely what she was wearing (as it was very cold) when he did the final. Thus, again I am inferring and hopeful she was kept warm. I believe he only took them off again for ID purposes, not for anything more sinister.

Is this confirmed?

It definately appears that Gary Hilton is a serial killer and not all victims have been identified/found yet.

What is going to make this really hard for us WS, is the fact there are so many missing cases that might have the same charateristics. (i.e. hiker, dog, etc.)

This might be the only time that a thread will be needed to tie in all the other cases that we are discussing here that possibly Gary Hilton is the perpetuator of the crime.

How can we even do a timeline?? No doubt he is a serial killer..........he's in at least his 60's.................don't even want to think when he started...

Taj was recovered. That's the eerie part connecting these two incidents (and possibly the Cayle Bywater case): people injured/killed, dog unharmed.

I've been thinking all day about the points you bring up. He led authorities to at least part of Meredith's remains. I think our best hope is that he confesses every crime he's committed- ever. The thing that I keep going back to is that when this man was in his early 30's, there was no national system of ID and information sharing. No CODIS, no AFIS, no VICAP unit, nothing.
I don't see any way to definitely come up with victims based upon a common thread of hiking/ being alone/ female/ a child- whatever he used to gain an advantage.. unless he is convinced that it is in his best interest to talk.
Also, if he is ex-military as he told the Cherokee Co. deputy in October ( which I haven't checked, but should be fairly easy to find out) then he would have been in prime physical condition at about the age we would expect him to have begun violent crimes. I doubt he's ever been mentally fit. :sick: :sick: :sick:
 
The dashcam shows that Hilton was in Cherokee county on October 26, 2007. That's four days after someone used the Bryants card at the ATM in Tenn.


Oct. 21, 4 p.m.: Someone uses Irene Bryant’s cell phone to call 911. The signal is lost, and the call never reaches an emergency call center. The provider is unable to lock onto a position using GPS. Irene Bryant was killed that day, authorities later say.

Oct. 22, 7:35 p.m.: Bryants’ bank card used to withdraw $300 from a machine at a Ducktown, Tenn., bank.

I accept that.
However, if he is questioned about other cases and pressure is applied again, he might spill again to avoid the death penalty in other cases. We don't know yet what he will or won't do but I expect that the FBI is working every angle. If it's obvious to us that this wasn't his first murder, then I hope they suspect him of other murders too.
The man is obviously not sane in the sense that we define sanity, this was obvious before he killed Meredith in the Oct. video. He told the deputy he " loved him". Sicko! ( not saying that he meets the criteria for criminal insanity- no. He can't be let off that easily).

Maybe I just assumed the property was his van since I cannot imagine being charged for abandoning anything small with no value. If the van had been left behind and was ticketed and had been there for awhile he may have been charged with leaving it.

The only thing I could find was a comment on Steve's website:

I mentioned this b/f but there was a poster named Glenn Adams on GretaWire who said on Thurs. of that wk he saw the white van nr. Amaciola River and there was recent human stuff...food wrappers, dr. pepper, natural organics wrappers, bottled water. and in an abondoned house was the same, and dog feces and mattresses. LE was there and figured Hilton and meredith had been there. Unless I don't have my facts straight. But maybe that's where he was keeping her during T/W/Th.
