It depends on the family -- I learned how to drive a snowmobile at the age of 5, a motorcycle not long after that, a lawn tractor at age 7 and at that same age I was finally able to reach and push in the clutch so I could drive the family cars. The first time I ever drove any distance on a paved road I was 9/10. Growing up in a rural area afforded more opportunities to learn those things (and practice them without being caught...)

She has the face of a child and the body of a teen.
I learned to drive when I was ten. It was the mid 60s. My dad took me in our Corvair out in the country to learn to drive on Sunday afternoons. Backroads of central Fl. There was nothing but woods, swamps and orange groves back then. Today it is known as Disney World.

That is major driving, not only in distance but she seems to be navigating highways, etc., not sticking to safer side streets. I'm worried not only about her safety but I'm worried she might cause an accident.

Whether or not she weighs as much as any of us, she is 10!

I'm surprised with the car info she hasn't already been caught, to tell the truth. I'm expecting it to happen soon, but how will LE pull her over? Does she know how to do that?

She has to sleep. Where did she sleep last night? I’d be concerned with her driving on the interstate and busy highways. Just because she is able to drive the car , she doesn’t have the maturity or experience to be driving on major highways.
 
I'm guessing they would cut off the credit cards so she couldn't gas up? I hope eventually the credit cards will not work and an alert clerk somewhere will call 911, if LE doesn't find her soon.

A 10 year old who looks older than her years is vulnerable against a dangerous person.

I just can't believe this child is driving all over the place. Could there be someone with her who stays in the car while she runs into stores etc so he/she is not seen on CCTV? It is crazy that she has not been found yet. IMO
 
I hope stores are showing their cashiers that tie-dye hoodie. I’m not surprised she’s confident making purchases - by then, she’s probably watched the insert card/scribble a signature hundreds of times and played shopping games in math to understand money & change. But where is she sleeping? I wonder if there were internet searches? Isn’t Wal-Mart known to allow or tolerate sleeping in its lots?

Unfortunately "the ability to drive" is subjective. She might know enough to get out and about but to continue to drive safely beyond that is unknown. As far as the credit cards, most clerks don't bother to check if the card matches the user. You don't even have to go into the store if you are pumping the gas yourself.

Also very dangerous if she does not know how to swiftly and safely comply with law enforcement. Thats all i will say about that.

Hopefully LE has BOLO's everywhere so officer's will know what they are dealing with if they encounter her. I'm still in disbelief that a 10 year old is savy enough to do all she's doing. Ava is one mature little girl, which makes me wonder about her life and upbringing.

I mean with a mask, she could look like any other teen buying stuff. i was hoping they would put an alert on the credit card from mom. i mean, to try to keep her in the store, ugh
I am so baffled, can't believe it. She is 10, I have a 10 year old. I doubt he will have the guts to do this.
