Volunteers Gather To Search For Keegan Oyugi, Missing St. Bonifacius Man

Josh Truax is a lead search volunteer with Minnesota United. He guided groups of volunteers through the thick brush areas, telling them what key things to look for.

“What we need to do is hopefully be able to find the car. We can use that as a starting point,” said Truax, “We’re looking for fresh marks that veered off the road into the woods. We’re looking for recently damaged bridges.”

While nothing significant showed up in Saturday’s search, the group is not going to give up. Search leaders from Minnesota United determined there are 5 possible routes Keegan could have taken home to St. Bonifacious from Savage two weeks ago. Their next search will be along an alternate route, where more volunteers will be needed again.

Follow Minnesota United on Facebook for details on when the next search is happening.

It's just a post in the wrong thread, an easy thing to do.

I did it the other day in another thread. I've got into the habit now of checking for spelling errors or mistakes during the time we get to edit.
I understand - I've done it too. Just making sure I didn't miss a connection between the linked article and this case.

Report: Body of missing St. Bonifacius man found in his car | kare11.com

The desperate search for a missing St. Bonifacius man appears to be over, after the discovery of a body inside a vehicle belonging to Keegan Oyugi Tuesday.

A Facebook page set up to find the 26-year-old announced the news in a post around 1 p.m. "The family has met with Minnetrista Police Department and BCA and they have confirmed that the car found today was Keegan’s car and Keegan was identified as the only occupant in the car," read the post on the Find Keegan Oyugi page. "The Hennepin (County) Medical Examiner’s office has taken over for official identification."

Rest in peace Keegan.

A little more detail and I'm including a picture of the area.

Authorities Reportedly Tell Family That Keegan Oyugi's Body, Car Have Been Found

An update Tuesday on Minnesota United says that the Minnetrista Police Department and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension confirmed to relatives that a car found off Highway 101 in Shakopee belonged to Oyugi. Officials identified the 26-year-old as the only occupant in the car, the post says.

Earlier Tuesday, the westbound lanes of the highway in the south metro suburb were closed after someone reported seeing a badly damaged red car in a copse of trees.

Hi Stina I understand what you meant because I was following Courtney Johnson's case too, and on her thread I mentioned following Keegan's case and worrying about the two different cases and both cars maybe going off the road - and now we know for sure.

Poor Keegan and his family. So tragic for all, but at least they know what happened and I hope they feel some comfort for that. RIP Keegan Oyugi.

Sometimes I think about how many cases that have a person who disappears while driving might be solved - any? many? - if there was a way to thoroughly check out their routes with drones, etc.

I hate that there are way too many unanswered cases out there. I always vow to my husband if I ever win the lottery a huge chunk is going toward helping people find missing loved ones by providing funding for wherever it would do the most good to get as many answers as possible. Sigh.
