This murder is big news and a big mystery in the Minneapolis area. Former lover 'Ty' Hoffman is accused of brutally murdering attorney Kelly Phillips (according to multiple witness, Hoffman shot Phillips once around 8 a.m. at a gas station, Phillips tried to run, Hoffman shot him in the back, then as Phillips lay begging 'No, no, no, please...', Hoffman coldly shot Phillips point blank in the head. Hoffman drove off in the 2011 BMW which was found at a suburban airport. I have seen no blog about this murder. I would think that Hoffman changed cars at that airport and drove to some getaway location such as some 'friend's' lake cabin. Another thought is that someone with a private plane flew Hoffman elsewhere, but it would seem like police could track that down quickly. Approximately 5 years ago, Hoffman and Phillips started a popular gay nightclub/bar in Minneapolis which is still going strong. Having myself been in restaurant work for many years, I expect Hoffman would know some seedy characters.
 
Witnesses told investigators Monday that they saw two men arrive in the same car about 8:30 a.m. at the Holiday Station ....
Josh Polos, 40, of Little Canada said he was at a gas pump when he saw the black BMW enter the parking lot. He said he heard bickering and swearing from inside the car as it was parked and saw both men climb out. "All of a sudden the shooter just shot (Phillips)," Polos said. "Then (Phillips) turned to run away, and he shot him again in the back." The third bullet was fired as Phillips was lying on the ground begging for his life, Polos said. "He was saying, 'No, no, no, please,' and the guy just stood right over the top of him and shot him point-blank in the head," Polos said.

imo One or more persons very close to this man must be hiding him. How else can he get 8 hours sleep every night? Food? Money? Place to shower? If this man was out stealing cars or money, we'd be hearing about it. I wonder where the heck he is now... And what is going on about the craigslist posts? If he is posting there, why don't the police at least tell us what city they think he's in?

The location of the bank robbery is in the same general suburban vicinity as the murder. Here is another picture of the bank robber which is much clearer. It's one thing to go into a blind rage as to your lover/former lover, but quite another to threaten innocent bank tellers (who are likely just 20'something y olds) and the general public (a mom and a tot could easily have been present). Please, somebody past the pic' here. tyia

What do you think this guy will do next? If you rob a bank in Blaine, MN, you'd think you'd drive far, far away afterward. But this is the suburb where Hoffman ditched his car with one day after he allegedly murdered his former lover/lover (Hoffman ditched the car at the Blaine/Anoka Airport parking lot). Do you think Hoffman could be staying with some one person who he trusts totally (and phoned for help right after the murder)? Or, could he be staying in some vacant house? Or staying in a storage unit? And if Hoffman touched his bank robbery money, then he should be full of red dye all over him. I just heard (from my phone app'): THEY CAUGHT HOFFMAN ! He was on foot. I had heard earlier today that Hoffman robbed the bank on foot (no car), too. Holy Moly. No other details except that I heard that they're 'calling off the dog' (police dog).
 
I just heard that this might be a coincidence, but not at all sure. There was a foot pursuit of someone in that area and the police 'apprehended' the man. Not sure at this time if it is Hoffman, or some other oddly coincidental criminal running on foot in that area. I myself heard that they're 'calling off the dog'.

A State Patrol helicopter is in the air, and a significant law enforcement presence is on the ground searching for murder suspect Ty Hoffman in an area near Mystic Lake Casino Wednesday morning.

Armed deputies from Scott County and SWAT team members could be seen near the intersection of Credit Union Drive and Mystic Lake Drive. Ramsey County Sheriff's authorities confirm the search was launched following a possible sighting of Hoffman Wednesday morning.

Police/Sheriff says they are quite positive that someone is helping Hoffman hide - there is an accomplice. Police/Sheriff keep stressing in video news reports that there is also a federal arrest warrant and they plan to pursue felony charges against whoever is helping Hoffman. They say that they believe no one on their own could successfully hide for over two weeks without someone helping him. Makes sense because Hoffman is still, after over 2 weeks, somewhere in a very small geographical area, so he just must have totally safe shelter, 3 square meals, a place to sleep safe and sound and without worry of arrest, a place to shower. But it would seem whoever is harboring Hoffman right now doesn't have much in the way of financial resources, no money to give to Hoffman so Hoffman could make a good getaway (i.e., leave the area) attempt.

More detail as to yesterday's 0530 a.m. sighting of Hoffman: Someone saw Hoffman walking in the dark wearing a baseball cap and carrying a duffel bag in a residential area very near to where he ditched his car (the Blaine/Anoka Airport) and where he robbed the bank (TCF Bank in Blaine), and not terribly far from the site of the murder (Arden Hills at 35W).

My guess is that Hoffman robbed the bank to get a large sum of money thinking the person who's sheltering him and helping him could use the cash to buy a car and have substantial spending money so he could leave the area, thinking he could set up a new identity and life in Miami or somewhere fun like that where it's warm and sunny, lots of alcohol and lots of gay bars (ala Robin Williams' movie, The Birdcage). Unfortunately for him, the money he got is all dyed red, and Hoffman is probably partially dyed red, too. I would think Hoffman is really mad about getting red-dyed money, and may be winding up red-stained himself. All the more reason to need to be walking in the dark.

Just my guesses.
 
News now is that within the past one hour, police/sheriffs/FBI are swarming a wooded area just outside a south Minneapolis area casino. Businesses and schools all in lockdown. The neighbor lady in the video is kinda interesting, because it seems she was doing her errands right when law enforcement began to swarm the area.

On tv sometimes you see that the helicopters have some sort of heat sensor so that they can see a human body (and on tv they will show it as 'whiter' than the rest of the woods/neighborhood). Shouldn't these police helicopters have those sorts of resources to spot Hoffman?

It is weird how Hoffman looks like Gacy - like blood relatives!
 
UPDATE: 10 MINS. AGO NEWS - HOFFMAN 'LUCKY'/'ONE STEP AHEAD OF THE POLICE'
Hoffman is said to have been at the casino area and run fast to someone who picked him up in an SUV. Here in the Minneapolis area, there are a lot of 'free casino buses' hauling gamblers to and from this particular casino (I myself have never been a part :loveyou:), so it makes sense to me that this Hoffman, a longtime gambler, in hiding, with no money and probably bored out of his mind, would hop on one of those buses.
