I guess they want people to be on the look out if his appearance has changed? As he could or could not be clean shaven.

imo smiles can really change a person's appearance. My face is kinda like his and my nose stretches out like Sumith's when I smile too.

The Mississippi River is very close. I used Google maps to get directions to the resident hall (326 17th Avenue Se, Minneapolis) and it's marked by the red flag on my screenshots.

So very sad.
My son was at the same dorm (nicest on campus) and it is a hike to the river. I always worried about him because of the drownings. Seems like guys gravitate towards water especially when drinking. Unfortunately most that went missing were caused by self harm. Not sure about Sumith's situation... prayers for him & his family. So glad he was found. They have lots of cctv along the river these days.

The Smiley Face Killer thing has largely been debunked. Most likely, this was an accident, and at this time of year, he may well have succumbed to hypothermia.

19 is just a kid. RIP, Sumith.
