I know someone who is retired from a 40+ yr career in long haul trucking. I'll ask him. I know he says he's seen a lot in his years on the road. You learn to keep your distance, mind your business and get your own work done. He says the standards and quality of drivers has really deteriorated over the last 10 yrs or more.

yes pick his brain on our behalf!

Cassidy was reported missing on August 25 and LE interviewed Phelps for the first time on Sept 1. That’s when he told the story about her leaving in the middle of the night sometime in late July.

The FBI provided local LE with the photo of CR and they returned to the property on Sept 16. That’s when they took Phelps into custody. The kidnapping arrest warrant was applied for the next day - Sept 17.

Norton was first interviewed on Sept 19. He was reinterviewed and taken into custody on Sept 20, which is when he confessed to helping Phelps restrain Cassidy. His arrest warrant was applied for on Sept 21.

So Norton had from September 16 to September 20th to destroy any potential evidence at the house that burned?

He said there's all kinds of things going on in the trucking community. He says there are more women drivers than before, it's not rare. He also said there are more gay drivers as well, they talk on the radio and make requests to meet people at stops, etc.

He said there could be drivers involved in cross dressing and the kinky stuff, but you don't see a lot of it. Not to say it doesn't exist, it's just not advertised. As always, the most common activity at truck stops is prostitution, some gay. Some young women and he had concerns about trafficking.

He drove several years with his wife. She didn't drive, but there are many husband/wife driving teams these days.

Others probably had access to the property from Sept 21 thru Oct. 4. It doesn't sound like LE had anyone guarding the place, so technically anyone could have gone on the property to remove or destroy evidence, indoors or outdoors.

I hope they've been questioning TN. He seems the most vulnerable and likely to talk and bargain for lesser charges. He can probably name other suspects who can likely provide more information about victims, possible locations of remains, etc. They should be interviewing any of the people we saw online who used that location as an address during the last 10 or 20 yrs.

I can't help but think if LE were interviewing those people, they would be out at the property or other locations nearby digging or using scent dogs to search. JMO, the lack of any other activity, arrests, searches, etc. is concerning in this case.

ETA: To be fair to LE, I'll also say they could be doing a lot of their investigating in other areas the public isn't aware of, or online, etc.

It’s hard to tell with the limited information, but maybe Sept 20 was when the search warrant for his phone was served? Or some other search warrant. The warrant affidavits that I’ve seen are for the kidnapping charge. The other charges could have been made at different dates? Just speculating…

Thanks for the timeline, however, we don’t know if Cassidy was ever willingly staying with him. That’s just a story that Phelps told LE. Also it was noted that the date for his kidnapping and other charges is July 1, 2021 on Casenet. Leading to speculation that he might have taken her captive on that date.

Thank you, I'll update as follows:

2021 - According to JP, CR was staying with JP until she got on her feet

July 1, 2021 - Date of kidnapping charge for JP on case net

While I can’t say for certain that any of the Youtube channels listed under CR’s name are hers, from having a little name-and-place sleuth of others who appear in a couple of the videos and from the context of some other vids, either two out of three or all three could be IMO.

I also think that a younger family member may have died in the past couple of years, with an older video potentially having been renamed as an RIP tribute.

JMO.

Possibly (hopefully) this means that they got all they need prior to 21st, got all the house had to offer, and are getting TN to sing like a canary.

Just to clarify, there's a difference between "arrest" and "custody". We often use these terms interchangeably, but the distinction may explain this timeline.

When we get stopped by an officer for speeding, but only get a ticket and continue on our way, that's an arrest (without us being taken into custody).

If we're total dicks during that traffic stop, it could very well get us arrested and also taken into custody.

The converse is also true, and people are frequently taken into custody without any arrest documents getting filed. While this is technically both an arrest and custody, the most often dynamics involve officer issued citations (i.e., not an official document reviewed or filed by an attorney). This is where the prosecutor, district attorney, county attorney (whatever the jurisdiction calls the state's attorney) come into play. The officer citation often gets withdrawn and either the case concludes upon release, or, the investigation continues at the direction of the attorney and gets refiled via complaint (while the person remains in custody or gets released pending refile)

FWIW

Thanks -- by any chance do you know of a site or book that includes a dictionary/glossary of legal terms for laymen?
