Many people are suspicious of her husband. I don't know what to think, since I don't know them personally.

I'm kinda suspicious of her bc now she thinks she's some sort of celebrity.

If I were her, I would stay off all social media, not take fan photos, not ask to meet certain celebrities etc.

Yes, It's horrible what happened to her but I think people are forgetting that she's a convicted felon and that she's the mastermind behind her mother's murder.

That link doesn't work for me. What's the interesting activity?

According to GBA's CaseNet, there was a legal name change in another state -- but Missouri did not act on that.

Can anyone access Arkansas? I had no luck with their on-line portal.

At this time, no main stream media outlets have picked up the parole/leave Missouri story.

Yeah, but you also haven't been in prison for 8.5 years. Is it that she's looking for celebrity or is it that social media and people knowing who she is is brand new to her due to her upbringing and the last 8 years behind bars so she doesn't know exactly how to behave?

I err on the side of the benefit of the doubt in this case. I think she's discovering social media for the first time and realizing that she may have something to offer others. Wanting to meet Taylor Swift also doesn't raise any flags for me.

Gypsy Rose isn't a celebrity.

She's on the new cover of People magazine and she mentioned that she wants to grow her social media presence but insists she's not looking for fame.

She posted on her own Instagram page for people to join her Snapchat.

She has people on her Instagram page call her "queen" in the comment section.

She's a convicted felon and the mastermind behind her mother's murder.

Taylor Swift would never associate with a convicted felon since it would bring her bad publicity.

And she just posted a Tiktok video where she thanks all of her supporters for the support she's been getting on all of her media platforms.

I guess we're reading her statements differently. I didn't take the meeting Taylor Swift thing as her actually thinking she could collab with TS or anything like that. I also didn't take her building her following that way. Again, to me it reads as someone socially naive, having just gotten out of prison, and wanting to do everyday things she's likely been thinking about for 8 years. I don't think anyone is insisting she's a celebrity. But she will have fans, just as women who kill their abusive partners sometimes develop a following too. She also has a story to tell so I won't be surprised if someone writes another best-selling book or movie about her story. I know she can't profit from it, but she will be even more well-known.

While I feel for Gypsy for what she endured and wish her well, both of these comments express the mixed feelings I have about Gypsy. Her unthinkable upbringing clearly left her naive and possibly amoral (like her mother). What she endured at the hands of her mother was horrific, but it shaped her character and it does not excuse manipulating her boyfriend into brutally murdering her. She knew what she was doing. Unless she has undergone intense therapy in prison (doubtful), she cannot have changed much. Now she is playing on the public’s sympathy to get what she wants, just as her mother did. There are plenty of people in prison from horrible backgrounds who have committed murder and are not considered heroes when they are released. I find it disturbing that Gypsy has “fans” and “followers” and is encouraging them. While her naïveté may be a factor, I hope her probation officer, parents, husband and a counselor are able to help her see how inappropriate it is to seek fame and profit from what she endured and from what she did to her admittedly evil mother.

Her life will be much better if she can live quietly and privately while she heals and gains insight into her past.

Snipped for focus.

I'm not condoning what she did, but I also don't think we can compare her to other criminals who killed innocent people, even if they had horrible backgrounds.

If it's an accepted fact that her mother was her abuser, then IMO, there's a difference. I 100% agree she should not have taken the law into her own hands and I think she should have gone to prison for it. But now that she has and she's out, I see a difference between her and common criminal and I can see how she can attract a following from other abuse victims. We've seen this in the past with women who've killed their abusive husbands. In Gypsy's case, the time behind bars was even more profound, IMO, because of this all happening throughout her life and during her formative years, not to mention the progression of social media over the past 8 years.

IMO one element that dampens sympathy for Gypsy is how she manipulated Godejohn into becoming her weapon of vengeance.

IOW, what would have happened if he refused to murder Dee Dee? Would Gypsy herself have murdered her mother? Would she have sought out another person to do the killing? There’s something very cold about the way she arranged a murder by proxy.

That said I can’t begin to imagine what Gypsy’s life was like, especially as she grew up. Nonstop doctor appointments, medical procedures and hospitalizations, all orchestrated by her mother for money and attention.

In any case Gypsy paid for her crime and hopefully will go on to live a full life. Will I “follow” her on social media? No. But I don’t wish her ill.

I wish Gypsy well but I have a feeling this is heading for a train wreck. This poor girl has never had a normal life. Her father and step-mom appear to be nice normal people and they obviously love her. I hope they and her husband can provide support and guidance so she doesn’t spin out of control.

Same here.

People will take advantage of her.

I don't know why she's going on a book tour, so soon after getting out of prison.

Imo, I would have waited until my parole ended until I started talking to magazines, filming a documentary etc but that's just me.

Exactly! Yes she was a victim of Munchausen's but she chose to respond instead of exposing her mother by manipulating her boyfriend into killing her. She doesn't deserve to be free in my eyes. The celebrity worship of her is nauseating.

TMZ is reporting that a Detroit strip club has offered her a job and they also are planning a " Get Tipsy W/ Gypsy" party.

This woman has never had anyone reliable to help her throughout her life, hopefully she has someone close to her now who can help her navigate her life post physical/emotional abuse and prison. Maturity-wise, she must be years behind a normal 32 year old. I hope she can live happy and free from here on out.
