I cannot think of one missing child case where LE requested Mother not to identify herself, or where Mother purposely refused to identify herself when pleading for help to find her son. MOO
One other case where I saw this was in Maddox Ritch's case although she eventually spoke to msm and was identified. I'm not sure what it means in either case though, it's just a little surprising IMO. Right now I'm curious about the stepmother/girlfriend and the other two women in the house.

Wonder if LE instructed Darnell’s bio mom not to disclose her identity?

I’m wondering if this is some sort of preventative privacy measure, as during cases like this, and in this day and age of SM, if her name is released people might sleuth her, (cough). And perhaps since LE has cleared her of any involvement, if there is something in her criminal background, this may not need to be revealed publicly as it is unrelated.

As one who is a private person and doesn’t do SM, I can understand this desire for privacy, especially during a time like this. If she’s been cleared, then why would everyone need to know her name? It would serve little purpose, imo.

In the Maddox Ritch disappearance in NC the FBI was super weird about Maddox's mom. The FBI coordinator gave a stern talk to all media present that the mom was going to make a statement but take no questions, and if anyone asked a question, the press conference would immediately end.

In that case they found Maddox in a creek and neither parent was named as a suspect.

I wonder if the social media scrutiny is so harsh that even innocent parents who are uninvolved are reluctant to speak to the media because of what happens. I thought it was strange in Maddox's case but this is now another case where LE is being weird about a parent who does not seem to be involved in the disappearance. JMO!

Jinx, sorry MsMarple, I should have read the last page before posting!

Oh yes - I'm with you here. And I would definitely go with the "spokesperson."

Not familiar with this Maddox Ritch - thank you. (I'm taking a leave on NC cases -- Mariah Woods and the Watts family have me spent).

That’s what gets me. I followed Mollie T’s case very closely and almost religiously. I was devastated by the outcome. But she was all over the news. It was everywhere nationally. What about Darnell? I don’t know about how much it would help or not especially after what we saw with Lucas. But, even locally - its so important that people know he’s missing!

Darnell is getting much more attention than originally thought. Friday afternoon I could find very little on him so I created a fb group for him ...tonight its climbed to 1900 members.
( not counting individuals I had to remove )

People local to him are actually very much involved with searches, etc.....

That’s very encouraging to hear, as public attention is vital in bringing cases like this to a resolution.

Yes, he is definitely getting attention.
I was also extremely surprised to see a reward being offered.
In my experience in the cases where it appears foul play was involved by someone close, that generally doesn't happen. It's more for cases where abduction is a realistic possibility.
I'm not sure if that means they don't suspect Dad's girlfriend, or if they believe someone additional may have information... but the reward was interesting/reassuring to me regardless.

Does anyone have the street name from where Darnell went missing?

I don't think LE have even released whether anyone who was in the home that night has a car. I mean it might not be someone in the home. There are cases where someone was in the home the night before and managed to return unheard and take a child, or neighbors or total strangers who've found a way in and not been heard taking a child.

If there was a river or pond within 100 yards of the home I could even imagine little Darnell waking up and putting on his coat and shoes ready for pre-school/kinder and picking up a packed lunchbox and juice carton that was waiting on the kitchen counter and going out and ending up falling into water. But I would think if something like this happened that sniffer dogs would have found a trail and Darnell would have been found by now.

I believe part of what we are witnessing here is the magnification of a "broken" home in this day and age. Many times due to past domestic violence the bio mom moves and hides her location etc. for her own safety. Just August 2 or 3, 2018 what started out as a domestic violence call here in Columbia ended with a Mother driving her two children into a river in Lawrence, KS. It is so difficult for LE to come up to speed on a family's dynamics in very short time for situations that have been years in the making. One 5 year old child drowned and the other infant will never grow up to be normal. Both with different bio dads.

KS - 5 yr old murdered, 1 yr old injured, Lawrence, 3 Aug 2018

Look how many days it has taken the FBI to be involved. It has had to be PROVEN that that this is NOT a simple DV case and that the boy IS IN TROUBLE. Four whole days. And even a Hollywood TV show knows that's two days too many. Parents have to PROVE their innocence to get any real help. The local community has been out every day, but TOTAL LE just now is involved. One thing an LE Officer said to a reporter in private I cannot post and he could not put to print.

And just like that i get sucked into another missing child that makes no sense. Thats what happened with lucas and joe clyde and now darnell. I am really tired of these caretakers who do no care taking at all. I wish they would just co e clean instead of believeing they can get away with it and string us along for months.

Has LE made any comments regarding the nature of the household DG was in? Like whether they'd received DV calls before, whether any of the individuals in the home at the time of the disappearance had any history with DV?

I don't 100% understand the household. The apartment he left from was his father's, is that right? So, he and his father lived there, did the two women who were arrested live there? Was one of them the father's girlfriend, or was that a third woman in this scenario?
