The folks who wear their pants down below their cheeks?

My son thought he was going to wear his pants like that once back when he was around 10-11 years old....then I did the same. Before we walked out the door.

Problem solved! :)

Gotta love when you're able to outsmart your kids. Sigh, sometimes it feels like it doesn't happen enough!

I am curious to see how many protestors they actually will get there on Sunday for the Rams game. It's going to be harder than getting them out in Ferguson. And they are going to need a lot more if they want to even be noticed among the crowd. Or to even stand up for themselves.

When they say ' No Fooball'--what are they saying, exactly? How do they expect to shut down an NFL game? It would take a lot more than they have shown so far to accomplish that task. And in the end, it would mean serious :jail: time. I have a feeling this threat will go by the wayside.

They ain't shutting down no football game. Those are fools on twitter. Will they show up? Maybe. Will the numbers be smaller? Likely. I agree with you. It will go by the wayside. If for no other reason than no one pays attention to the Rams so their voices won't be heard there.

"Criminal" implies guilt to me, or at the very least, someone who commits a crime. What is OW guilty of, except going to work that day and carrying out his duties? Where is the guilt in that? Do you think he woke up that morning and said, "I'm gonna kill a person today..." But for the actions of MB, we wouldn't even be here.

Just tell me what you want to call him. I'm really not reading that much into it. What do you call someone being investigated by a GJ? I always thought they were a suspect, but I was told that can't be used in reference to OW either. Defendant? If I use SOI ("subject of investigation") is that ok? I'm really lazy and don't want to type out the whole thing every time.

Reedus, I really respect your opinions and cool head. But, don't you feel the family's attorneys agreeing that there was an altercation when the LEO was trying to get out of his car, sorta gives you the feeling of who the is here?
I'm sorry, but if I'm approached by LE, I do what they ask, not slug them, not curse them, not tell them the many reasons I don't have to do what they have asked of me. Good grief, if he had just gotten out of the street, he probably would have went on home, loaded the blunts with pot, chilled out, and started school tomorrow.
All MOO only.

From what I've heard, yepp, MB was a . During that discussion I was not speaking specifically of OW but about concepts in a broader sense. Whether OW was involved in thuggery is to be determined IMO.

RE: the Rams game threats---- the only way I can think of that they could hope to shut down the game, would be to lie in the street to block the entrances. I wonder how many streets there are that enter into the stadium? Probably a lot of them. I don't think there are going to be enough protestors to pull that off. jmo

There are 2 streets. They can't stop it though.

So...is there any truth to the idea that having your pants hang down like that was a sign of "availability" to other men in prison? Maybe it's just a myth that real prisoners chuckle over, idk.

I've read that it did stem from prisoners but not because of availability, it was because prisoners weren't allowed belts in prison, for obvious reasons, and prison garb was usually too big so they dropped. Makes sense

Locals would know  I was at Riotport that night -- my friend made bank in a lawsuit! You can only imagine who his atty was :)

I thought it was Art Marguilis who also defended Dennis Bulloch (book Dying to Get Married)

ETA was Rose's attorney, also Busch's attorney. Son was Coleman's attorney.

I agree. They would be picked up and moved so fast their heads would spin. The NFL Security teams aren't going to play with nonsense like this.

Exactly.

The chief was incorrect when he said 35 feet, and I remember FryDaddy giving us the correct footage. But that doesn't make OW guilty.

Well, it does go to the credibility of the Chief and LE since he is representing them. I won't jump up and down saying he's a liar and LE's story is a bogus narrative like has been done with others, but it does impact their credibility just like it does with everyone else. There is a huge difference between 30 or 35 feet and 100+ feet.

ETA - And while 100 plays a role, it is also important how far OW traveled as well.

Wasn't that the distance between the police SUV and MB's body? What does that have to do with where OW was shooting from? I'm really confused???

OK that's it. I'm done. The chief of police lied. Is it too late to change my vote? Go ahead and put me down for guilty now. Yep. OW, the chief, the mayor should all be convicted and given the death penalty.

(Now where is that dripping with sarcasm emoticon when you need it???)

It is a pretty big misstatement of fact.

The folks who wear their pants down below their cheeks?

Good guess! But no it was about one lawyer's ignorance, not sure how that extrapolates into "those folks".
Flew right over my head! Would love some clarity.

The St Loius Chief did misspeak and he did say the body was 35 feet from the officers SUV. And that was incorrect.

But you are right that the protestors are conflating 2 things: the location of the SUV and location of OW.

Good point. Haven't the "folks" at WS said that many witnesses on the scene completely lack credibility over smaller miscalculations?
I seem to remember that.

I'm guessing the Dallas Cowboy fans who are travelling to the game aren't going to play with this nonsense either.

Thx for urban dict ref re wearing pants w waistbands waaaaaaaay below waist. Yrs ago (~15), I was told this.*

When a guy is arrested and taken into custody at county jail,
officials take shoelaces and belts (as well as items of value for inventory)
so arrestee cannot use them to hang or hurt self, or anyone else, I guess.
Without a belt, their pants would droop & hang way down; without laces, their shoes would flop & slop around.
When released from custody, arrestees would not put belt or shoestrings back on,
reflecting their arrest & detention.

Seeing a guy w very droopy drawers, ppl would say: "He be jailin" (as a twisted badge of honor, imo).
Thus a fashion trend was born. And spread.

* Not vouching for this explanation, just repeating.
Does not seem like pants would be that droopy/saggy, unless they were sizes too big to begin with.

Here is the major big story on #Feruguson twitter. The breaking story that the police chief lied and they can prove it and he needs to be fired:

"wait for the facts?" Hardly a good idea when the #Ferguson police are so busy making them up... https://storify.com/VeryWhiteGuy/shaunking-exposes-ferguson-pd-lie-about-distance-f …

In that video, the Chief says it was 35 feet from the window of Wilson's car to where Mike Brown was killed. This was a DELIBERATE lie.
An officer is allowed, expected even, to use force, when in danger, when as much as 25-35 feet away. Mike Brown was ONE HUNDRED feet away.

[OK, so the big lie is the distance from the SUV, that the body fell. But they seem to make the assumption that OW stayed with the SUV. But he didn't. He ran behind chasing them. So he was only a few feet away at the final shots. So what is the big deal about the 100 foot distance?]

It's not against the law for the police to lie or not tell all the details.

Ok, I went back again to listen to the chief talk about the 35 feet. He also stated Brown had at least 2 bullet shots, or more. This was a quick brief before measurements and an autopsy was performed. Sorry, I gave the chief a break since this is all the info he had at the time since everyone had to know RIGHT THIS SECOND what happened before having a chance to gather perfect info. That's my take.
