Thanks!
In the article it says:

The jury will return to court to make a sentencing recommendation for Boedecker.

@steeltowngirl - does it say "what" date the jury will return? Monday? OR??

TIA!
Hi @Niner - yes, Monday

The jury will be back in court Monday to recommend a sentence for Boedecker to the judge.

Her attorney could ask the court for a sentencing assessment report and that could delay the sentencing for a month or more, according to the Clay County prosecutor's office.

”Once the verdict was read, some members of the crowd in the courtroom said, “Yes.” Others begin to cry. Several people left the courtroom overcome with emotion.”

A lady posted on a FB site I follow regarding this case.. When asked if she could stay out on bond until sentencing, judge declined and raised the amount of the bond to one million dollars. Jenna was taken back in to custody. The lady who posted this is a relative of Joe Ribando. She posted a lengthy synopsis of everything that happened. Very concise, with details many have forgotten about. I won’t copy and paste it here, but you might want to look her up on FB. Hannah Ribando is her name. Worth the read.

“Evidence during the trial showed Boedecker had about two times the therapeutic amount of Xanax in her system the day her daughters were found, WDAF-TV reported.

Clay County Prosecutors Zachary Thompson said evidence also showed Boedecker had contact with law enforcement the day before the girls died about a separate incident of leaving the children in the vehicle.”

I tried to Google a definition for what the previous post might mean, but it’s too far over my non-legal mind. What does this mean? That her lawyers are filing a request for a new trial? Huh? An acquittal? Thanks in advance for helping me understand this.

I’m honestly not sure either, but my take agrees with yours. There is very little about this case to be found in MSM. The above is from the court, as I’m on their notification list for the case.

A Clay County jury found Jenna Boedecker guilty on Friday of two counts of second-degree murder, four counts of endangering the welfare of a child and two misdemeanor counts.

The same jury recommended Monday that Boedecker be sentenced to 22 years each for the two second-degree murder convictions and a total of nine years for the endangering the welfare of a child convictions.

Prosecutors alleged that Boedecker said she put her 2-year daughter and 8-week-old daughters in her Jeep while she argued with her husband and then fell asleep at their rural Kearney home on July 3, 2018. She found them unresponsive the next morning and took them to a neighbor’s home for help but emergency responders declared the girls dead.

Evidence during the trial showed Boedecker had about two times the therapeutic amount of Xanex in her system the day her daughters were found, WDAF-TV reported.

Clay County Prosecutors Zachary Thompson said evidence also showed Boedecker had contact with law enforcement the day before the girls died about a separate incident of leaving the children in the vehicle.

A hearing on any motion for a new trial and sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 3.

Saying his decision was not taken lightly, Judge Shane T. Alexander ordered Boedecker to serve back-to-back sentences on the murder and child endangerment convictions. He called the deaths of 7-week-old Goodknight Ribando and 2-year-old Ireland Ribando a “horrendous” event that was “entirely preventable.”

“That makes it even more horrendous,” Alexander said.

In asking the judge to have the sentences run consecutively, Robert Sanders, chief deputy prosecutor, said Boedecker is “self-absorbed” and a “narcissist” who “utterly failed in her obligations as a mother.”

“This wasn’t a loss of children. This was a throwing away of children,” Sanders said.
