Lawyers for a Willard babysitter charged with killing 9-month old Lucas Payton Theede-Bennett have waived her preliminary hearing, and she was bound over for trial today.

The Willard woman accused of allegedly killing Lucas Payton Theede-Bennett in January was arraigned in circuit court today and entered a not guilty plea.

Brenda Jean Caringer, 54, was the babysitter of Lucas Payton Theede-Bennett and is charged with alternative counts of second-degree murder and child abuse resulting in death.

Caringer is scheduled to stand trial on April 8th. I will be there to cover it.

Postponed to Nov. due to last minute certification of an "expert" witness for the defense. Although it doesn't seem fair to keep pushing the trial date back, the ultimate goal is that we get justice for my angel and eliminate any opportunity for her to appeal.
