Very sad case of a young man who, according to his family, walked out of his home after watching a football game in 1996, and has never been seen again. Here is more information. I did not see a current profile at WS for Mitchell so I have provided Charley Project's information about him. Thanks and credit to Charley Project for help with this information.

Oh how very sad. As someone who suffers from anxiety, I find it hard to believe he is out there own his own and OK.

I pray this family finds answers and that where ever Mitchell is, he found the peace that he didn't have for so long.

Mitch was my uncle. When he left I was only 12 years old, but for my brother, sister, and I, he was like a second father. We used to call him "Uncle Miggy." Some of my fondest memories of him were him taking us on evening walks to the convenience store to get treats and then to a park where he would push us on swings. He was a funny guy and incredibly smart. He also put up with a lot from us kids! Losing him has left such a giant hole in the middle of our family. We have never forgotten him, which is how I found this website. I'm 36 now and searching google just to see information about him. Thank you all for caring enough to talk about my uncle. And if you're ever thinking of leaving, or that nobody will miss you, please think of people like Mitch- a man that is still loved and greatly missed. Mitch, if you ever read this, come home. <3

<<Authorities do not suspect foul play was involved in Hamilton's disappearance, but it is unclear what caused him to vanish. His family stated he was very intelligent and good at mathematics, but had a low self-esteem and thought of himself as stupid and ugly. At the time of his disappearance, he was living with his brother and helping raise his brother's two children.

Hamilton may have traveled to Minnesota or Florida after his disappearance. His family believes he may be deceased.>>

***BUMPING*** for Mitchell in August 2024. At least he and his Dad are probably together again. May they rest in peace.

According to the Charley Project, Mitchell "had a low self-esteem and thought of himself as stupid and ugly." The Doe Network adds that he had suffered "a series of failed jobs and a brief, troubled marriage" and "fretted that he was a burden to his family." Add a "chemical imbalance that caused him social anxiety" into the mix, and unfortunately suicide is probably what happened.

According to NamUs, Mitchell was last seen at this intersection. I notice the Missouri River is relatively nearby. Could he have gone there and jumped? I don't know anything about the current of the river here, especially in January.

I know the Charley Project says he may have traveled to either Minnesota or Florida, but I don't think this is too likely. For starters, he abruptly left the holiday bowl game he was attending. Did he leave in his own car? Did he hitchhike? I don't know how common it is to just spontaneously decide to drive or hitchhike hundreds of miles on a whim.

Searching for instances of Unidentified human remains found in and along the Missouri River is probably the best place to start.
