I am a first poster and will jump in here for one moment as this case caught my attention several days ago when it went up and I saw codes, not typical codes but codes.

I am not college educated but I am pretty far above street smart and I am going to toss something in the air on this and you guys can play with it.

This listing by the F.B.I is no good faith hire a codebreaker because we cant get good help ad. This guy they have has been ignored or held down by the FBI or law enforcement and he is beyond pissed, and he is killing people.

I think they put this up because they had to, this guy is using home made codes of various form and mixing them together. I thought that the killer was the victim up until last night, but did not see this forum and the comments.

If this is what it looks like then the guy has been at it a long time, and I don;t want to simplify his code or make like I actually know what he is doing but now that I know that this Ricky is a victim, the profile changes immediately.

The SE's are not spaces, the XLR, STS, and XLY, as silly as it may sound may be the suffix letter of the victims cars, XLY being Yellow, Why? I do not know the need for the color.

Some other things to note, while cramming some or parts of the code I keep running into your site and the reason is random but it is how I found you, I would imagine he has found you as well.

if he wrote the location he was found dead at, i'd guess the cipher belongs to the killer and not ricky.
unless ricky had figured out who the killer was and had been watching him. so he makes a code in paranoia.

what's odd is that there is no cod as the decomp was too far for le to tell that it was a homicide and the fbi would actually come in for this case, considering ricky had a rap sheet that included sexual assault.

the kicker is that another serial killer, maury troy travis (who committed suicide in his jail cell prior to le being done questioning him) worked the area where ricky was found.

travis was internet savy and being upset he was not getting the attention he wanted, had mailed a computer printed out map to le that showed an x for where one of his victims were. the map later proved his demise, as le traced it right back to travis' house.

travis has a lot of unfound victims. possibly this cipher can tell us their whereabouts.

what would be helpful is if we could find out more about ricky mccormick as a person.
if he's written codes as such since he was a child, does his family have any examples of this? it's an awfully uncommon thing to do. if he regularly wrote in code, did le find any other codes in his residence or possession that we could use to help in comparison and for solving this one?

He is not using standard code, not only that but this part does not make as much sense anymore as I do not have a high school drop out mechanic that I thought I had.

But some of the other code looks like its based of automobile ordering codes, codes that would make no sense, and combined with Latin extensions that are or may be trim packages as well as alpha numerics sic and Roman Numerals.

Its too crazy.

I am pretty certain this is a car its scrambled and I backed in 11 digits but there is some alpha conversions here probably on the C and E, E, E and the K and R need to be placed. If someone can do that it should be a vin code for what I believe is a 1985 Nissan. The T Would be origin Japan, the U would be Stanza, the L production sequence, first 3 should be JN2 4 and five might be S S.

Tried but no reference anymore.

Hi, chemco. I don't know if you saw the posts from a couple of nights ago when RiverGuide made us aware of a serial killer who we later learned was Travis. It was late, and the discussion didn't last long. I was intrigued, though. He didn't send only a map, but a letter, too. There's no mention of it being encrypted, but I can't help thinking that it might've been.

all of this is very suspicious. ricky had a rap sheet including sexual assault, various addresses, etc, not your perfect citizen; in fact far from it.

his cause of death was unable to even be determined as a homicide.

we have other bodies in the same area he was found. (the 2 woman dumped there 16 ft apart!! they've got to be related in the sense of same killer.

one of the women, teresa wilson, evidently had been found only after a letter tipping le off came in. this "tip" also indicated that the women would be victims of a serial killer. it's obvious that this tip off letter is from the serial killer himself he sent it in to prove he's real!!
stated in the letter was possible willingness to "tell where others are to prove i am real"

st louis dispatch who got the letter unsigned said that "the letter also indicates that the number of victims linked to a possible serial killer could be higher than the 10 police now suspect"

it's obvious that this code has to do with a serial killer, moreso than a common person that they can't even get a cod on. it's likely that ricky didn't even write the code himself, maybe the serial killer left it in his pocket. if that is the case, it could be locations of other remains.

also if ricky was so into making codes and writing in them, how come we don't have other samples from his family of his codes to use?

teresa wilson was a former prostitute and linked to drugs, and is one of 9 women who police believe was killed by the serial killer.


in the other link, the killer is caught and arrested, maury troy travis. he was the one who sent in the tip letter along with a map of where to find the bodies. the fbi was involved in his arrest as well.

travis murdered at least 12 women, and claimed to have murdered 17.

now it's possible ricky didn't write the code and it's maury's burial listing. or it's possible ricky found out about maury killing and wrote in code what he figured out about the killer, in fears of being found out he knew.

its apparant that travis did not want to help le locate all of his victims.

this code could, if solved, even possibly give a lot of families closure for this missing loved ones, if it has to do with this serial killer travis and his unfound victims. (indications that travis had as many as 20+ victims in that area)

i believe that courttv, or maybe id channel did a show on this serial killer travis; they had caught him with his printed out map, identifiable to his home computer (the map he sent marking wilson's body to the dispatch)
he also keep women in his basement and had made videos of some of his victims.

It's run by Shy David (though he's not very shy LOL) and it's a anti-Scientology website. I wonder what the serial killer's connection was to Scientology. Strange is getting stranger.

Welcome to WS, video. I read your posts on another board last night and thought it was worth a closer look. I know absolutely zilch about automobile codes, though I did do a little googling on the subject. To be honest, I think I have a better chance of deciphering Ricky's code than understanding obi codes. lol I was able to find a few of the acronyms you pointed out. And I do believe that some of RM's symbols are Roman numerals. That was one of the first things that popped out at me when I first saw the cyphers.

I should mention that someone named LuciBear is claiming to have cracked the whole thing nine hours after release, but says her solution was removed from online, but not before MANY law enforcement got in touch with her and she is still working with them. Evidently there were at least SIX pages of code. She could be lying, or it could be true. I do not have the time to follow that thread.

On another site, a bunch of guys say they have cracked it and it is all related to vehicles, maintenance, VIN numbers (redundant), auto descriptions, etc.

I am not sure what Lucibear had, when I caught it there was no profile and just a code, what I saw was auto code but I see that others see things they recognize as well.

Lucibear said that there were more pages, that very well maybe and I have never seen the FBI do anything like this, and what really caught my attention was the massive release. I got Lucibear as that was the first hit on Google and there were ten full pages within a couple hours.

Now I am sure there are a lot of people smarter than I am, but there was no profile on the guy, just the code and a statement of High School dropout and some mental issues. When I see that I look at something differently that I would normally.

Now I am not sure if Ricky wrote the note, if he is a victim or some kind of killer and what I thought to be a Irish mechanic with no diploma turns out to be a mentally disturbed African American male with mental problems. So what exactly is going on with this?.

I saw auto code then, I see auto code now. But what I saw form the beginning also is that Page 1 does not run into page 2 and they handed out the bread without the meat.

Just some updated information. There are many references to work that would be done on E Coli. Now is its basic state E Coli is not all that harmful. But there is a reference early on that refers to WLD (wild) strains of a protein and RNS E par se which is a direct reference to manipulating E Coli. Also if the government was not worried about terrorism and E. Coli then why is each state required to have a plan for a outbreak. For example http://www.scdhec.gov/administration/library/ML-025272.pdf refers to a plan from SC. In most cases if someone was to clone a new strain a person would not even know that they have E. Coli until its to late and it shuts down your kidneys or other internal organs. I also feel that CITRS E WiLD NCBE refers to a strain of E coli that is found in fruit and the protein (NCBE). I just would hope I am wrong or else this is distrurbing.

Well, I pretty much all but tossed that first page where I thought the redundancy of Ricky's words were hin working and using auto language and code. Now he is unemployed and not sure he wrote this.

However? does the note really go with the body?. There are more than a few unsolved murders where suspects are mechanics. I am still liking that first page translation, but I am not sure the FBI is being truthful here.

That first page is sitting here and it still looks good, but there have been some turns. I still think there is a mechanic mixed in here somewhere.

I found that as well, and mentioned it in my 1st post...actually, I did a mapquest of the roads...starting Knoxville, Il (which is about 36 miles from I 74....from there to Illinois 29...to route 173 (Richmond, IL)....to Denmark, WI...to provincial secondary Route 651 (HWY 651) Missanabie, Ontario, Canada....pretty interesting...almost a straight shot; however, the words in between might be to go SE. Also, clearing could be CLG. The 99.84.5 ZunePL looks like a radio station maybe on Zune player; however, Zunes weren't around in 1999...but it could be something Canadian that we don't reconize.

We've discussed 71, 74, and 75 to mean interstate highways. But what if RM was referring to state highways.

I started my map from St. Louis to Hwy 29 at Pekin. From there I proceeded north on I-39. On the way to Rte 173/Kenosha St, I-39/US 51 crosses IL 71 and IL 75. There's a county road 74 near Joliet, but no state 74. In that case, 74 might mean I-74. Anyway, take a look at the map. I haven't finished attempting to track the miles from (pte 2 pte) as indicated by RM, but the total route is 355 miles. RM notes what looks like 356 le.

First, how he solved it:
I started with breaking up CTSE-WSE-FRTSE

I then associated numbers to letters: A=1, B=2, etc. (I have now noticed people posting this on the thread so others are doing the same thing now, so I feel even more confident now)

Starting with CTSE
C=3
T=20
S=19
E=5
*Keep 3 because it is the first number and smallest* T-S=1
E-1=4 (See how I repeated that twice? That is the "law" of 2 and you'll see it again and again in this code, and its the reason he repeats letters twice in patterns.)

23-19=4 (the law of 2) add 4+4=8, then 19-5=14(the law of 2) 14/2=7

I found it quite hard to decipher the original images the FBI provided.. So I pulled them into Photoshop converted them to Grey-scale and ran them through a Genuine Fractals routine and mathematically increase the resolution by 700% without losing any image quality, then I filtered them 3 times with some unsharp masking, to bring out some hidden details, finally I inverted the colors which makes several characters that were unrecognizable before appear.. especially on the 2nd page where the smudging is.
The files are 8 mb in size and I have it in both regular and inverted format.

Well I just can't seem to get this idea i have out of my head. The following section

makes many references to issues with Vacomycin back in the 90's. At that point there was great concern and worry about strains developing that would become drug resistant. Today these strains do exist.

The rest of the letter sets are other references to other type of infections. Letter for Letter. The only seperator is the dashes and the spaces are creating correct strain references. So I keep seeing correct wording and references to Cloning, E Coli, and now even worse types of infections. In our health care world today MRSA is a major problem. Also every hospital has a version of the infection. It's the people on the outside with MRSA strain MKSE that are having real issues.

As we know Ricky did visit the hospital. And with so many medical terms in the notes I wonder what is really going on here. Do we have a serial bio terrorist killer? Was the hospital involved in some type of research? Were Doctors doing some type of research? But the chances of me finding matches to the same subject on almost every line is getting to be more than coincidence for me. What if the actual serial killer that was caught has no relationship to this note at all? Or maybe was just covering up for what was actually going on for the higher ups and thats why he ended up dead. Ever look into how he actually killed himself? It is easy to fake a suicide and whos really checking when the person actually admitted to so many murders.

Just some thoughts again out on the edge where I like to be. There is a real story here to be told. :websleuther:

Thursday night I was convinced we were looking at notes related to stocks and financial trading. The SE's, or many of them at least, could refer to various stock exchanges. And just like the person in your link, I thought the 99.84.5 could be an interest rate, and the various letter combos might be ticker symbols. But it occurred to me that you could look up virtually any combination of letters and find a ticker symbol to match, so I dismissed the idea. After reading the post you linked, I might have to revisit that line of thought tonight, right after I do some biology research.

I hope someone solves this thing soon so I can finally get a good night's sleep. :loser:

I wasn't sure how to post them Actually, I was thinking this guy is familiar with MO and IL...so his directions wouldn't necessarily be what someone unfamiliar would need (if that makes sense). Anyway....after the 173 RT (which seems inverted on how most folks would write RT 173...so perhaps the 365LE means lake ends and 356 miles or maybe that is 356 miles in total mileage (which could be) until DK (Denmark, WI). Then on to HWY 651. The CUTCTRS might mean cut centers of lake...which is exactly where the road goes if you continue on to HWY651. Then I'm stumped. Anyone know what Canadian mile markers look like? Are they in miles or KM?
