I wonder what the supportive friends and family are thinking about the incest magazines?

According to one family member, "that's unfortunate"

Since the case broke last week, family members have voiced support of the defendants. A couple of dozen took up much of the courtroom Tuesday when the men appeared for a hearing.

News of the *advertiser censored* did not seem to change their resolve.

“That’s unfortunate, but it doesn’t convict them,” said Bill Bruch, a cousin of the senior Mohler.

"Unfortunate"-- not sick or revolting or disgusting or nauseating or surprising.

He's right - it doesn't convict them....but it does *not* look good in the court of public opinion, IMO, for a man accused of incestuous abuse to have several publications promoting incest.

Wonder what his neighbors think of his Neighborhood Voyeurs book?

There are listings for such magazines as Family Taboo on Amazon but they are out of stock it appears.

Certainly not something I would read but it appears to be perfectly legal.

That kind of stuff is available to read for free all over the internet too. I did some research on it a couple years ago. Just sickening. I guess b/c it's fictional and the printed word, it's legal, whereas photos of underaged girls would be considered illegal and thus child *advertiser censored*.

Is that right, Paximus (or other legal types)?

I really dont know anything about *advertiser censored* or the laws governing it. You may be right.

I'm sure the church is fine with the legality of books promoting incest -- but how fine are they with the morality of it? A lay-minister with *advertiser censored* & incest material. What a nice guy.

IMO, morality & ethics are as relevant to life as legality.

ETA: it's currently legal in Texas for a father to force his young children to watch pornographic movies, at 3 a.m. while he's drinking.

Doesn't make it any less sick & disgusting.

I agree with you otherwise, it is morally corrupt but it isnt easy to legislate morality. Abortion is one such example, I cannot personally understand how someone could not see abortion as being morally bankrupt and unethical, HOWEVER, I FULLY support a woman's right to choose. What is right for one may not be right for another.

Are you absolutely positively sure that 'their own Bible', which BTW is shown on their org's website to be King James version, is "full of incest, child rape and all sorts of other grotesque crap"?

I ask because that's not the KJV of the Bible that I recall reading..."full of" is not what I've read.

Yes I am certain of it but I dont want to make this a discussion about religion. My parents are Jewish I was raised Jewish I have read the canon in Hebrew, there is plenty of incest, child rape and other disturbing things in that book. I am not a christian so I dont read the KJV so perhaps they changed things later on but I know what the original says.

Perhaps someone with knowledge of criminal minds will know this better than me, but serial killers take and make souvenirs. I'd guess incestual rapists would do the same. In this particular case, if the allegations are true, the offenders probably felt they had great control over the victims, if they video taped the assaults.

This is probable, IMO.

Maybe the children weren't at the farm all the time, so they needed some videos to tide them over, in between allegedly raping the girl in the basement and preying on others. I pray for justice, whether the allegations are true or not.

Which is why I am so curious to hear what is on the homemade tapes that were hidden with the magazines. Doubtful they are of family vacations to Disneyland. I think it will make the incest mags a moot point in regard to evidence and whether they are admissible in court. I would be willing to bet the abuse was recorded.

I have a question: why did the wife lock up the *advertiser censored* when she found it? Why wouldn't you dispose of it if you were disgusted with the material? Or just let him keep it since they agreed he would live in the basement and they would just co-exist. It's as if she was keeping it for some future purpose: evidence of suspected crimes? blackmail? leverage in a divorce proceeding? what?

IIRC, I read in search warrant (or application?) for Sr's home LE specifically called out souvenirs or similar word...need to look it up again.

Also, when this 1st broke, the church quickly distanced itself from the perps. Interesting that the mother went to the elders of the church back when it was happening. Hmmm...the plot thickens...
