Police still searching for 20-year-old Wichita woman last seen in KC
missing-woman.jpeg

Friends say she sent a text at 4:42 a.m. that said, “just got pulled over again.”

They add, “It’s extremely out of character for her to run off without letting her boyfriend or friends know where she’s going.”

Family desperate to find missing 20-year-old UMKC student

Liz Anderson will do anything to be reunited with her only daughter.

"It's so hard, such a beautiful, bright, young woman. I just want to find her." she said.

Friends say Anderson left work early Sunday morning from a local club and had planned to meet a friend at QuikTrip. She allegedly never showed up.

The last person to hear from Anderson was her best friend, Roxanne Townsend.

"Her house, her apartment on Grand is like twenty minutes from the club, so she would have been somewhere on I-70," said Townsend.

Missing Kansas City woman’s last text: ‘OMG just pulled over again’

"She's a great person, really nice. We're all worried sick for her," said Pete Sanchez, Anderson's boyfriend.

Sanchez says Toni works as a server at Chrome nightclub off of U.S. Highway 40, on Kansas City's East Side. On Sunday, she left work at 4:11 a.m., and was adamant about going to a gas station, according to WDAF. However, 30 minutes later, Toni's friend, Roxanne Townsend told the station she received a frightening text from Toni.

Parents issue plea for help to find missing UMKC student

Anderson's parents have learned from a friend that Toni was pulled over and let go in North Kansas City before stopping at the QuikTrip where she was last seen.

Toni's phone was still connected to the T-Mobile network until around 9:30 Sunday night before going dark.

Kansas City Police are investigating Toni's disappearance. Police are expected to subpoena Toni's phone records. Her car also has a GPS tracker. Family members hope that information could help find her.

Can someone give me an update? Been waiting for a new thread cause I hate starting in the middle of one when I'm lost as to what's going on!

I don't think there is ANY new information. I believe the last thread was mainly a discussion of theories and a close examination of what is known and what has been stated by people who knew Toni. In a lot of cases where a vehicle is missing, I tend to wonder about the location of the vehicle and whether someone walked away from that location foot or received a ride in another vehicle.

I'll give it a shot...

Officially, nothing is going on. The police still officially say they have no evidence to support any theory. There is literally no update. Nothing.

The , started by Pete Sanchez (Toni's boyfriend) was handed over to her parents. They don't seem to be doing anything with the money. They have left town.

The rumor mill is churning away. There is some interesting stuff out there, except that I highly doubt *any* of it is true. The two big areas of activity are on the facebook group #MissingToniAnderson, and from some guy calling himself "Kansas City Crimefighter."

Thank you for an excellent summation of the past three weeks, AceDetective. Very helpful!:tyou:

Today marks four weeks since Toni went missing. Liz Anderson (Toni's mother) stated that Toni's phone was connected to the service provider for over 16 hours after Toni was last heard from (and seen on video) Sunday morning. Has her phone ever re-connected to the provider during this time?

Have any of Toni's personal items such as credit cards, bank cards, checks been used--any banking activity whatsoever?

Also: the GPS tracker that her insurance company required her to have installed. I'd really like to know when and where that, like her phone, "went dark." Seems to me like that would be a logical area to begin searches if LEO has not or isn't already doing so.

I do understand that it's an on-going investigation and LEO can't disclose all that they know, or even suspect.

I suppose it's entirely possible that they are going with the theory that (almost) everyone is a suspect. Likely that they have their reasons for not wanting to disclose information and in that case: I can completely empathize with why no new info has been released.

Simply brainstorming further ideas here in the wake of nothing new having been released. I must admit, though, I'm quite curious re: if progress is being made, and just how much of a priority this investigation is to local authorities.

Also: is anyone here aware of whether Toni's friends are doing any further searches or how many have actually been done? According to what I had seen earlier: the searches previously planned and publicized often got canceled or postponed. Weather conditions had been claimed as the main reason.

We are being kept completely in the dark. Police are not releasing any further info, and have asked family and friends not to say anything either.

In 3 days it will have been a month since Toni went missing.

The last organized search was 8 days ago, I believe. Results via Josh Helmuth:

Things are not looking good, I'm afraid.

Forget about the OMG i just got pulled over.. that is just 20 something speak even if true. The cops are onto this. They have the same phone records that we do not know anything about. I guarantee there are people getting grilled right now. Real suspects.

Correction: FOUR weeks now. I had it stuck in my head today that it has "only" been three weeks. Excuse me for that error and thanks again for clarifying, AceDetective. No...not looking good at all unless she left under her own free will.

How could a merely a dozen people search 6 miles ?

Folks- no matter how out there a theory might be, we have to keep in mind that any criminals are able to dispose of evidence. That's why they are criminals. Also, keep in mind that this case is close to I-70 which is a HIGH traffic area for drug traffic, and human trafficking. Everything that we might come up with now is theory. Is that not acceptable? There has been talk of several crime syndicates- all viable theories with location and Toni's lifestyle, as well as people close to her being under the spotlight. The Midwest is a prime location for drug trafficking- not only because I -70 is connected to Colorado, but think about where all the rest of it is coming from right now- Heroin and Meth to name a couple. There is always someone bigger calling the shots. Not directly saying that happened to Toni, but don't discount her associations as "small time" either. With her associations I think there is more to them- don't discount anything. Just speaking from a lot of experience with LE in the Midwest area and the like. P.S. I don't play grand theft auto, but would love to! A vehicle is one of the easiest things to make "disappear ". You don't have to repaint it and drive it around KC

Since we've started a new thread - here's the Timeline:

Toni Anderson's Timeline:
9pm (approx), Saturday, January 14th Left home to go to work at Chrome per boyfriend Peter Sanchez. Lives on Grand Blvd)

4:11am, Sunday morning, January 15th Toni left work at the Chrome Club shortly after 4 a.m. to meet up with a friend but she never made it. (Chrome nightclub at 7400E Highway 40 near the Truman Sports Complex) (Note: Toni was on her way to meet a friend at the QuickTrip on Southwest/31st where it was originally said she was headed and sources say when Toni left Chrome, she had plans to meet with friends at Shady Lady, a strip club on the eastside of Kansas City, at 2800 E 12th St.)

4:25am She was pulled over at 4:25 a.m. by a North Kansas City, Missouri, police officer — a separate jurisdiction from Kansas City — for a routine traffic stop for an illegal lane change, which resulted in a warning. Traffic stop lasted about 7 minutes. The Officer saw her pull into QuickTrip at 2525 Burlington to pump gas. (QT ATM near 26th and Burlington along 9 Highway) (Police say she was alone when she was pulled over and they watched her pull into QuikTrip to pump gas.) (from link: http://www.kwch.com/content/news/KC-police-search-for-missing-Wichita-woman-411018955.html )

"A North Kansas City police officer pulled Toni's 2014 Ford Explorer over for an illegal lane change in northwest Kansas City. The officer gave Anderson a warning, then escorted her to a QuikTrip to get gas." This is the video that says escorted. http://www.kwch.com/video/?vid=411263755&vid=411263755

4:33am She then stopped for gas, police confirm. Toni's debit card was declined at 4:33am, according to family's bank records. A declined transaction at QT. Also says two attempts to use card.

4:42am At 4:42am, she texted her friend, “OMG just got pulled over again.”
It is not clear if she was referring to the 4:25am traffic stop or a subsequent one.

4:53am She has not been heard from since, though she received an incoming text (or call?) at 4:53am; family says number is from a man who is cooperating with police.
To Toni’s mother, the phrasing of that final text does not sit well with her. “I don’t understand why she would write ‘I’m getting pulled over again’ in the same night,” Anderson says. “It just keeps resonating in my brain ‘again,’ ‘again’ … that’s just odd to me.”

~4:50am CCTV video has her leaving QT going south. Toni turned left in parking lot between QT & Adecco Staff building (?) and then who knows where? Video Link of Toni leaving QT: http://fox4kc.com/2017/01/20/friend...ppearance-near-gas-station-she-was-last-seen/

Brian Anderson is also asking businesses to check their surveillance footage if they're on Tony's route from her home on the 1000 block of Grandview Blvd (should be Grand Blvd) to the QuikTrip on 2525 Burlington St. He says she would have been on the road between 4:50 a.m. and 5:15 a.m. on Jan. 15, Sunday morning.

9:30pm Sunday night Toni's phone goes dead. (Battery dead?)
("Investigators are doing a data dump of information from her cell phone in hopes of getting a better idea of who she was communicating with and where she was when the phone's battery died.") Link: http://www.kwch.com/content/news/KC-police-search-for-missing-Wichita-woman-411018955.html
"The Andersons said their daughter's phone was still connected to the T-Mobile network until around 9:30 p.m. Sunday." Link: http://www.kmbc.com/article/parents-issue-plea-for-help-to-find-missing-umkc-student/8609411

6 am Monday morning Jan. 16th Toni's phone "pings" near Parkville. Not actually confirmed by LE; source is her boyfriend
