Teen reported missing in Waynesboro - WDAM
The Waynesboro Police Department needs help locating a missing teen.

The police department said 17-year-old Abdul Mohsin Mohamed was last seen Sunday night wearing a black hoodie, black shorts and black shoes.

The police said Mohamed left King Smokerz on Mississippi Drive at approximately 8 p.m. going to Burger King, just up the road. However, he never made it to Burger King, and he has not been seen or heard from since that time.

Mohomad is described as having shoulder-length black curly hair and a black mustache. He is around 5 feet and 10 inches in height and weighs about 150 pounds.

If you know anything about Mohamed’s disappearance, please contact (601) 735-2323 and ask to be connected to Lt. Don Hopkins with Waynesboro’s Police Departments Criminal Investigations.

WAYNESBORO, Miss. (WDAM) - Abdul Mohamed’s family pleads for his return as the search for the missing teen continues.

Mohamed was last seen on Aug. 20 on a walk during his lunch break.

Waynesboro police have video of Mohamed earlier in the day getting into a vehicle parked in front of his family’s store.

“We saw video of him getting into the car,” said Mohamed’s 12-year-old cousin Mohsen. “They drift a little bit and just drive.”

Family members say this is not something that Mohamed would normally do.

“He doesn’t have friends here,” said Mohsen. “We don’t have trouble with people.”

In a search that has gone on for more than three weeks, the Waynesboro Police Department has expanded its reach.

“I’ve got several of the state agencies and a couple of the national agencies involved with Abdul Mohamed,” said Lt. Don Hopkins, lead investigator at WPD.

The department also place Mohamed on the National Missing and Exploited Children’s registry, but so far, there has not been any luck.

“We’ve made contact locally with everyone that may know where he could have gone to, but we’ve had no success in getting any idea of where he’s at,” said Hopkins.

If you have any information, contact the Waynesboro Police Department at (601) 735-3192.

So...his family has a store in Waynesboro and presumably lives in town, but he doesn't have any friends? Did they just move there or something?

FWIW, I just Googled "Waynesboro, MS". It only has a population of around 4500, and Mississippi Drive, where Abdul was last seen, appears to be a main road with lots of fast food and other stores. Surely someone would have seen/heard something??

“He told the officers that he didn’t want to make contact with the family,” Hopkins said. “Nobody wanted to listen to him when he said he wanted to return, so he went back on his own.”

“This length of period, you start thinking that something bad could have happened,” said Hopkins. “You’re always great when it comes back and there’s been no problems. They just left their own free will. And you find out that there’s no free will involved.”

I really can't understand what he is saying. Is it just me, or is it not clear.
