Some of the biggest questions I have are:

Where was JC found? Walking down the road, beside her car or inside of her car? I've seen all three reported. This is important. If she would have been found inside of the car, her position in the car could indicate whether she had been driving or a passenger. If she was found outside of the car, it could mean any number of things.

Was she REALLY able to whisper a name? I've seen varying accounts in MSM. The very first article in our media thread states that she tried to communicate, but she was not understood. I've also seen it reported she whispered a name and I've also seen where she was able to give a couple names.

How were investigators abLE to draw the conclusion so quickly that someone had been with her? It seems suicide/accident were ruled out from the start.

Did she suffer an injury of some type to her head? How severe was the injury? Would it have been enough to render her unconscious at any point? I've seen no reports of any other injuries to her body other than the "gash" to her head being mentioned and the injuries sustained while on fire. Were there other injuries as well? Ones that suggested a fight or that she was beaten?

Was she kidnapped? Did she drive to this location willingly? Was she subdued at another location and brought here? Was she lured? Who called her at the gas station prior to her re-entering the store after she purchased gas.

My gut tells me two males and one female were involved. I hope we find the answers soon. The above are just unanswered questions I have. I have many more, but the conflicting info in MSM articles/video makes this so hard. Not much has been reported as far as evidence. They are keeping this close to the vest or they have nothing substantial. I hope it is the former.

BBM - This is one of my biggest questions as well, and it's info they could give us, the public without compromising the investigation IMO. Just saw this, but I to have heard it reported differently :gaah:

Snipped this::

"Chambers, 19, was found on Herron Road in Courtland a little after 8 p.m. Dec. 6, walking away from her burning vehicle with burns over 98 percent of her body. Coroner Gracie Gulledge said the cause of the young woman's death was thermal injury."

I still swear that the fire chief said she was on the ground by her car though. ::Siiggghhhhhh::

I believe her mother said (I apologize for no reference) that she was NOT hit in the head, no gash, and that she WAS recognizable. That might have just been because she is a mother and knew it was her baby girl :(

As the holidays approach, I would like to pay my respects to JC and offer my sincerest condolences to her family. It tugged at my heart to hear that Christmas was her favorite holiday and that efforts were being made to do something special to acknowlege that. When following a case for a long period of time, I tend to lose sight of the victim as a human being and I focus on the death, rather than on the life. By all accounts I've read, she was a wonderful, sweet person. If anything positive is to come out of her death, I hope it is that LE will be successful in getting a very dangerous person(or people) off of the streets. God Bless and RIP, Jessica.

With several agencies including the Panola County Sheriff's Department, the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, the FBI, the ATF, the State Fire Marshal's office, and the US Marshals Service involved, Sheriff Dennis Darby said a lot of the investigation operates on looking at the same information, witnesses, evidence and statements from many different angles.

I wonder if the outcome would be different if instead of offering a financial reward they offered 'the first person who gives evidence that leads to an arrest gets a one way ticket out of Panola county and a new identity for them and their immediate family'. Someone out there might be more willing to talk if if they knew they weren't going to get similarly offed as soon as this blows over.
If someone comes forward, I think they would deserve that. If it were just my life, I would come forward without hesitation. Putting my family in jeopardy would make me think twice. My son is JC's age.

JC's mother stated very emphatically on the official FB page for JC that she was recognizable and did NOT have a large gash on her head. She also stated that she can be sure of that because she was with her at the hospital. Lisa Daugherty, the mother, wanted the speculation to stop that she was burned beyond all recognition. I believe her because the fire chief was able to recognize her as well.

I agree, her position in relation to the car is very important. Was she a passenger? Were there signs of a struggle outside of the vehicle? Good post, LunaDreams

How to Escape From the Trunk of a Car

Three Methods:Strategies for Escaping Immediately Improving Your Chances of Escape Preventing Yourself or Your Family Members from Getting Trapped in Your Trunk-

Being trapped in a car's trunk can be a harrowing, sometimes deadly experience. Sometimes a criminal will force a person into a trunk, and sometimes a person (usually a child) will accidentally get trapped in a trunk. Regardless of the cause of entrapment, a trunk is a very dangerous place to be. Unfortunately, it's not easy to get out of a locked trunk. While any vehicle made in the United States after 2002 has a trunk release lever, others do not. So what can you do to improve your chances of escape? Read on to find out

http://www.wikihow.com/Escape-From-the-Trunk-of-a-Car

Has anyone explored the possibility that the car was lit on fire, (a punishment/example/some other reason IDK) and a struggle ensued after that, phone separated during that and at this point the attacker was so angry he threw JC in the fire and doused her, or maybe she tried to stop him/her/them and she got covered in the accelerant and accidentally caught fire? Just considering the burns described on JC and the condition of the car - can someone who knows fires better than I confirm or deny that the car was likely on fire longer than JC was?

The plan may have been to destroy the vehicle and take JC somewhere, but when she fought back (she has been described as a fighter) SOMETHING HAPPENED/WENT WRONG and they had to leave her and flee the scene.

Just some other ideas IMO. It's sad to me that I hope there was DNA evidence but the only way I can see that happening is if she was raped and that is the last thing I hope she endured before her life was stolen. :(

LE has said they know what JC said before she died, but they won't comment on it. this was after fire chief spilled the names she said.

I think she was raped elsewhere, knocked unconscious, driven to the location by someone else and then set on fire. I need to watch the video again but it's possible someone got in her car at M&M while she was being distracted by SR. I think she was lured to the gas station and/or the first crime scene by someone she trusted who did not understand what was in store for JC.

she may have been walking when the fire chief got there. the first thing he would do is take her down and roll her, right? so then she'd be on the ground, fire out, and he might have talked to her at that point.

But sometimes overlapping gangs 'divide' the spoils. One gang gets heroin and one gets meth, etc. That is what happens i certain LA neighborhoods, where the Mexican mafia has overlapping sub-groups. They agree to disagree and both make money.

This is probably closer to the truth. The behavior I've read about between gangs in the area, is that there are no distinguished lines in the sand. There are VL members with friends in the GD and vice versa. All hearsay though honestly. I've read all the LE reports available for gang activity in the area, some as old as 21 years, and save a few news articles with gang related shootings, I can't find anything to substantiate who owns which part of town, or the fact that any part is contested. "turf" as you noted can also refer to which gang is allowed to do what activity, that behavior may run along traditional lines.

My impression of this town is it must have a lot to hide since no one has guts enough to speak up for this young woman. From what I have managed to track down, it reeks of corruption and appears to be run by thugs, not law enforcement. I hope when this case breaks open, it breaks wide open and all those involved fall deep into that snake pit. There is one saying that seems to always ring true, “What goes around, comes around.” They need to think long and hard about this because the “comes around” part usually isn't so pretty.

What irks me more is the money talk, how sad that we can’t do the right thing without a price tag. Money should have no bearing whatsoever on doing the right thing but this again just shows what we love the most. One penny should not have even been needed to get information. The reward is far more greater knowing you did the right thing for someone who did not deserve to die this way over a handful of green paper. And guess what, once the money is gone, it’s gone. Just like Jessica.

One has to ask why does a young teenager need to move out of the home she is being raised in and move in with another family. Not as a runaway either and live there for 2 years. I suspect she finally wised up to it all and knew if she didn’t get out of this lifestyle, she would end up like everyone else in that town. But no, some individual or individuals decided she didn’t deserve that and murdered her. I hope she fought like a wild angry captured tiger and it cuts me deep to think of the horror and fear she went through…alone. And she is still alone.

It’s absolutely disgusting and shows no respect for her that not one person has come forward. How do they even sleep at night, I certainly hope it’s not restful. These are not her friends, they used her and when she had enough, they took action. I wonder about that friend who lived across the street from her mother that Jessica spent a lot of time with. If that were my friend murdered, everyone in town would have me in their face demanding answers. If cost me my life then so be it, but I would fight tooth and nail for my friend because that is what real friends would do. And Jessica would not be alone anymore.

These are my thoughts and opinions only.

But I've also seen it reported that she was NOT on fire when rescuers arrived. Way too much conflicting info to say anything definitively. IMO.

Interesting for sure. Never considered this. Thank you!

and at this point the attacker was so angry he threw JC in the fire and doused her, :(

I think if the fire was already going and the perp tried to throw someone in the fire and then douse her, the perp would also be burned.

I think if they set her up to rape her; She would have been held hostage for much longer. Similar to Christopher Newsome and His girlfriend who was kidnapped and raped in Knoxville . I still hate thinking about that case.

If someone comes forward, I think they would deserve that. If it were just my life, I would come forward without hesitation. Putting my family in jeopardy would make me think twice. My son is JC's age.

The US Marshals are involved, anyone that wanted to testify with relative safety could ask to be included in the Federal Witness Protection Program. The option is there, as well as the reward money.

Not sure that would necessarily make someone feel safe. Leaving friends and extended family behind would also be of concern. Your life, as you know it, would end.

On the other hand, if you were keen on getting away, it could certainly be a great option :)

Bumping because so many people still seem to believe that she had gash on her head - as reported by MSM. I would believe Jessica's mother who actually saw her before I would believe anything I read in the MSM.
