This is one thing I am happy I missed and I have no intention of looking for it. LE should be ashamed of themselves for letting the parents find out the way they did.

That video gutted me. Unbelievable that they had to find out that way and all on camera. What was LE thinking??

I had missed the 1st part of the PC. Around 2:30, there was an officer working at the Kroger who witnessed a woman coming out of the store. They made eye contact and the woman mentioned her car was missing and the officer drew a case number. It wasn't until later they found out there was a child in the car so at 1st they thought it was just an auto theft.

per presser-not told from the start that child was in car-just that car was missing. smh

I am trying to reconcile this in my head. Was mom afraid she would get in trouble for leaving the child in the car? Why wouldn't that have been the first thing she told the officer? When they found the car, they would have known he was left.

The news outlets released Kingston's mother's name and from her FB, she doesn't look like the woman with Kingston's dad in the FB live video. I'm grateful at least one parent was spared that media abuse.

No joke. I cannot imagine finding out my child got hurt that way let alone killed!

If it's whoever murdered Kingston I hope they will get justice for him, even if they couldn't save his life.
How in the world do you explain someone looking at a 7-year old KID and making that decision to kill them? It's hideous. :tears:

There is absolutely no humanity in someone who can look into the eyes of innocence like this little child and shoot them in cold blood. This type of animals are not deserving of the room and board they will get while awaiting trial and probable death sentence. Sadly, there are those in society who glorify this monstrous behavior. My heart breaks for this child's mother who had to find out on a video broadcast that her baby is dead. Shame on the LE who did not notify her first which in most places (if not all) in protocol.

i think there will be more to this story -i am NOT victim shaming or blaming but if i found my car was gone with my child in it-i would be screaming for help no matter the consequences of me leaving him alone in the car.

I'm trying to figure the timeline. Went to Kroger at 1:15am. Spoke to officer at 2:30 am? Did I read that correctly?

Can't link from my phone.

Is it just me??? I don't see the "like" button for posts (on my iPhone). This case makes me so angry!!!!!!

Where does the 2:30 reporting to the officer come in?

Where does the 2:30 reporting to the officer come in?

During the news conference, law enforcement said the mother spoke with an officer at Kroger around 2:30 a.m. saying that her car was missing.

It appears she did not mention that her son was inside.

Once made aware of the missing child, an Amber Alert was requested and subsequently issued by the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation.

I have too, but my kids were way older and able to lock the doors, like 16/17. And it was only to run into a QT or something and never in the middle of the night! But I'm not judging....yet.
