UTTE, Mont. (AP) - Anaconda-Deerlodge police are searching for an Anaconda woman who has been missing for two weeks.
Detective Bill Sather says 45-year-old Helena Gracia's sister reported her missing last Saturday.
Her family last saw her on May 23, when she went to the store to get groceries and fill a prescription for her mother. Police say Gracia was last seen later that day with a man at an Anaconda bar.
Gracia's brother, Mike, says the family wasn't immediately alarmed, because she had talked about going to Missoula to look for a job. However, when calls to her cell phone went unanswered for days, the family called police.
Gracia's car was found behind the bar last Sunday. The car was locked, the groceries were inside, rotting, and Gracia's purse and her mother's medication were also found in the vehicle.

This doesn't sound good at all.

Her picture is at this link:

Police are looking into a lead that Helen was last seen with a man with whom she had lived, Gracia said. People have called police with tips that they had spotted Helen.

Gracia said his sister has not shown signs of depression and never mentioned moving away other than the possibility of looking for work in Missoula.

I can't find any updates on this one. Has anyone heard who the man is who she used to live with?

There hasn't been a word on the news. For a little community, the gossip is surprisingly slim. Helen lived with her elderly mother and took care of her; but wasn't reported missing when she didn't come home with food and medicine. She was gone for so long before anyone looked for her that she could be anywhere - forests and wilderness areas are minutes from town. Her brother is an anchor for Associated Press and I'm disappointed he didn't arrange more media coverage.

Helen Gracia from Anaconda, MT went to the grocery store and never came home. Her car was found parked behind the Anaconda Bar full of groceries, purse under her seat with her wallet. The last link from MT Standard says LE got surveillance from the store and she is in the company of an unidentified man.

Anaconda woman missing one year

One year has passed since a 45-year-old Anaconda woman went to the store to get groceries and was never seen by her family again.

Saturday marked the one-year anniversary of Helen Gracia's disappearance. She was last seen by her family on May, 23 2008.

Authorities continue to search for Gracia but have not received any new leads, Anaconda Detective Bill Sather said. The case remains active, Sather added.

The reward for information leading to the whereabouts of Helen now stands at $10,000.

I can't fine Helen listed on any of the missing.orgs websites. I hope her family knows to encourage LE to do that for them.

It is coming up on 2 years since Helen Gracia disappeared. I hope there will be something in the local media.

It's so sad she hasn't been found. A couple of places still had missing posters up a few years ago but I hope this case does not go cold. This woman needs to be found. All these missing people are the saddest thing to me.
