This is why I still think the family does not know what really happened. I just don't see this as a conspiracy within the family. Baez instructed them not to talk to her about the case when she was first released. I'm sure he probably told Casey to keep her mouth shut as well. If this really is the case, imagine how frustrating that would be for the family. You would feel forced to tip toe around her at that point....unfortunately making Casey the 'queen'. Not a pretty site, but probably an accurate view.

I am the mom of 4 /all married with kids......so a grandma also. I can't be to bad of a mom or gramma, I babysit for all my grandkids. I'd begin by telling JB to MYOB / nobody is going to tell me what I can or can't say to one of my kids in my own home. So it wouldn't be frustrating...Casey needs to get a clue & fend for herself. Quit hiding behind mom & dads apron strings.

I'd of never let her come into my home after the way she talked to me from jail. No kid of mine, will ever be allowed to disrespect me / nor would they ever consider doing so. If they do /did I would probably be jailed for slapping them.

I've taught each of my kids that I may not like what they have to tell me. But they had best be the first to tell me. I could tell ASAP if one of my kids were lieing. The truth may hurt but a lie always has to be followed by another & another.

The minimum on the child neglect is 5 years. Every prior conviction you have makes the sentence longer. So the fact they are not charging her all at once will help make her sentence longer.

Any idea of the maximum? I know it's a felony degree. Does 10 to 15 sound good? Lets hope she gets the same judge that set her bail at half a million.

I am a grandma also... my kids were raised knowing that lying and stealing were the two things I just could not abide... but they knew they could tell me anything and I would help them the best I could.

I agree that I could not have my child in my house under those circumstances and not question...

Question: If Casey goes to jail for the check felonys, what happens if they find Caylees body and prove she murdered her? I know I just sounded totally dumb but I am not very knowledgeable on jail times and stuff. Do they just charge her again and she ges to trail? Does the fact that she is already in jail affect anything?

I am amazed that the Anthony's refused to take a polygraph. Disgusts me to no end! And screams guilty or involved!

And earlier it was posted that Lee said she got pregnant around Thanksgiving and then I heard something about a Christmas party? If Caylee was born close to her due date then neither of those can be try. My daughter was born end of July, was concieved in October. So it should have been sometime in October as long as Caylee was born on time. Any idea if she was early??

If someone can direct me to where the complaint itself is on the forum, I'll look it up. I'm not sure what degree felony it is.

I can say that I have heard approximately 3 million times, from various news interviews, that it is a third degree felony.

The statutory punishment for that is as follows:

(d) For a felony of the third degree, by a term of imprisonment not exceeding 5 years.

Oh shoot, I was hoping the max would be slow death by torture.

If it eventually gets amended to aggravated child abuse, resulting in death-----a different part of that neglect statute, then Casey is looking at the death penalty.

If Casey goes to jail and hasn't been charged with murder yet, they will charge her with murder. Yes, they just charge her again.

The only way that her already being in jail affects a new charge is that she will not get credit for time served on the new charge when they set bail.

They will set bail so that in the event her time is served on the charges she's in for, she will NOT have the opportunity to walk out to freedom for one day while she awaits a bail hearing.

I wish people from here would call in with some decent questions for a change. NG's staffers don't do such a good screening job for questions, imo. Just like last night when MN was there and someone asked a goofy question which had nothing to do with anything relating to him, GA or CA when they have a limited opportunity to ask hard hitting questions. (Sorry, watching the rerun and just drives me crazy. LOL)

SS I've tried & tried for wks to call in......Can scratch one off my list it was.........has the Anthony's been asked to take a poly test? If not why?

You're right. GA & CA agreed to the polygraph, Lee was upset about that, Lee talked to them, then they all decided "no" polygraphs.

Something still very fishy. Stranger and stranger every day.
Would be wonderful if LP just spilled his guts and told all he knows.
Maybe he only answers direct questions now.

Under your scenario....she could still be charged with murder & stand trial. It would add to her time.

I am in shock the A refused the poly test. Tells me they're guilty of something.

For as far as when Casey got pg.....thats another joke in itself. She can't say who the dad is / she don't know when he died / they decided to never bother him he has another life ......then they throw different names out there. One day she got pg near Thanksgiving / now its Xmas ........next time it'll be she is the blessed virgin Mary.....so sad.

Caylee deserved a Dad /she would of deserved to know who he was /had she lived. Poor thing relied on a sorry excuse for a mom who probably don't know who the Dad is. Its for certain she was unfit to take care of a 2 yr old. They sold Caylee out for Casey....shame on them.

Would a juvie record, if one existed, have any part in her trial? Would that be allowed by a judge?

If she's convicted on the financial and fraud charges first and thus has a criminal record, won't that have an impact on any sentencing in another trial, such as a murder trial?

I don't know about the juvenile record for sure but that may be sealed. Yes to the rest. If they try her on the fraud first they can use that for the child neglect case, etc. If she ever gets charged for manslaughter or murder I'm sure they would try all the other charges first and then use those against her for the big one.
