King is described as a white female, 5 feet 11 inches and weighs about 120 pounds. She has short brown hair, tattoo of a lightning bolt on her right arm and gauges in her ears.

Diz is a Hispanic female, 5 feet 2 inches. She has brown curly hair on one side of her head with the opposite side shave and dyed blonde.

As well as the name of a fellow they may have known, who was arrested that evening. This is absolutely rumor, so I am just paraphrasing.

Connection between missing women and murder suspect under investigation, police say

The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office and the Asheville Police Department are investigating the connection between two missing women and a man who was shot by police after authorities said he shot a man to death and then led police on a chase.

Authorities have scheduled a news conference for 11:30 a.m. today.

Authorities said are investigating the connection between the women and Pierre Lamont Griffin II.

Griffin is charged with murder after authorities said he shot a man to death Tuesday night and then led authorities on a chase.

They Buncombe Sheriff Dept is now confirming the guy's name and a possible link:

The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office and the Asheville Police Department are conducting a joint investigation regarding missing persons, Alexandra Brooke King and Tatianna Dis, who were last seen on October 27th leaving Canterbury Place Apartments in between the hours of 9:00 and 10:00 p.m. The number one priority for both agencies at this time is locating Alexandra and Tatianna.

The dark blue VW Jetta belonging to Alexandra King was recovered yesterday morning on Craven Street at the edge of the French Broad River near the New Belgium Brewery site. We are investigating the connection between these missing persons and Pierre Lamont Griffin II. Both women are considered to be endangered.

And the Pierre guy is now in jail for murder of an acquaintance:

After the shooting, Pierre Lamont Griffin II, 22, fled in the victim’s vehicle. Griffin was charged Wednesday with first-degree murder and was being treated for injuries suffered in the chase at Spartanburg Regional Hospital in South Carolina, Hallingse said. More charges are anticipated from several agencies.

The two people involved in the shooting were acquaintances, Hallingse said

After he killed the guy he got in quite a pursuit doing all sorts of nonsense and then:

On two occasions during the pursuit, Griffin slowed and pointed his handgun at the drivers of other vehicles, trying to force them off the road in an attempt to car jack their vehicles as his own sustained damage while authorities tried to halt him, Stout said.

Eventually LE did get him.

Based on the new info of car with blown out windows and blood with the car found beside the French Broad River-I'm sure the search focus will be the river. JMO

Yikes - he potentially killed 3 individuals in under an hour's time?

That's beyond frightening...

Especially since at least when I looked earlier today, there was an uncharacteristically high number of "No way! Pierre was the _____ person I knew growing up!" (fill in 'sweetest' 'kindest' 'gentlest' 'nicest' 'stood up for bully' type choices) all over FB

I didn't see if the tone stayed the same, but while we often hear SOME of that post-abductions or murders, the volume early on in this case of shocked people seemed way higher than normal.

For him to very likely have killed 3 people in under an hour (in separate encounters, and all seemingly at least superficially known to him) seems like quite something.

Asheville Fire and Police Departments and Buncombe County sheriff's deputies deployed searchers and K-9 units on the French Broad riverbanks, boat crews in the water, and a search helicopter in the sky to try and locate the two women.

The search concentrated on the area near the New Belgium Brewery construction site, the same place where police found King's VW Jetta on Wednesday morning. A member of King's family told News 13 both women were in that car Tuesday night with Griffin. Police say there is a link, but have not elaborated on the nature of the relationship between the three.

"We have confirmed there is some connection between the two women and Mr. Griffin," said Asheville police chief Tammy Hooper. "We are investigating that fully to determine what that is and whether or not there was some reason for them to be together that evening.

(Earlier articles had a similarly vague, but conclusive, link between Pierre and the first confirmed victim)

8 a.m. - King's sister texts and calls Alex, but gets no response. A short time later, construction workers find King's VW Jetta near the New Belgium Brewery construction site on the banks of the French Broad River.
11 a.m. - Buncombe County Sheriff's Office receives a missing persons report from family of the two women.
12 p.m. - Relatives say King's Father sees his daughter's car at a wrecker service in Leicester with broken out windows and blood on the inside of the car.

I wonder what Pierre's original intent was? :thinking:

Was he having the girls take him to Uhon's perhaps?

And maybe something he said caused them to resist meaning they became 'collateral damage' because he was afraid they wouldn't take him there AND might turn him in? (If his plan going to Uhon's all along was something nefarious and he slipped up)

Did he set out that evening trying to get the car of someone he knew (thus in one hour two contacts with individuals he was at least acquainted with - and one encounter which we know included him getting transportation from them?) for some purpose, thinking they might acquiesce their vehicles?

Only in both cases they resisted and he "had" to kill him because they all knew him and would turn him in?

Like maybe the girls realized that they weren't simply giving him a ride somewhere nearby and resisted and in the process the car wrecked with the girls injured or killed either before or after the wreck?

Then, already possibly infuriated by what he maybe thought would be a 'simpler' crime both turning violent AND unsuccessful, he REALLY was trying to get another car to get away (assuming his original 'plan' was something other than killing Uhon) and so then goes to Uhon's where he also maybe met resistance robbing him or stealing his car or something?

So he shoots and kills (what is quite possibly then the third person in under an hour) and thinks he's also finally gotten a vehicle, only for it to turn into the crazy pursuit?

I guess what I'm really thinking is it seems unlikely Pierre set out to kill 3 individuals known to him in what would almost inevitably be 2 separate encounters.

That would have meant going into it confident he could pull off the first 2 murders AND get away AND (seemingly do so on foot) to get to Uhon's undetected AND kill him AND get away.

Even for a hardened criminal that seems incredibly 'ambitious' (for lack of a better word :scared and bordering on WAY too many assumptions of things playing out and accomplishing it all.

Basically it seems like that's one thing that possibly can be ruled out - it likely wasn't all premeditated (though some of possibly)

Did Uhon expect him? So did he know if things went wrong with the girls he still had to get there? Or was this 'dumb luck' and he just happened on Uhon being home after something seeming to have gone sour with the girls?

Could Uhon have actually been out during that very, very narrow window of time, and seen something happen with Pierre and Alex/Tatianna? And then he tried to get home and hope he wasn't seen, but Pierre knew he had and so then had to kill Uhon as his only attempt to get away with whatever happened with the girls? :dunno:

Has anyone seen if Uhon and Alex/Tatianna also know one another? :thinking:

That might make more sense in some way if all 4 were at least loosely acquainted versus Pierre having two seemingly separate bits of individuals Pierre knew ending up his victims in such a short time span.
