The difference between this guy in the video and the recent mugshot looks like something from "The faces of meth"

I agree to that. I was thinking the same thing and it is a costly habit for sure. Wonder how he was making a living or paying rent, etc.

I just saw him on tv at the magistrates office. They said he had been interviewed for the last several hours. I wonder what he is saying. They said an attorney had told him what his rights were ( not his attorney, but one that happened to be around?), so he knew he didn't have to talk. So why was he talking to LE? Is he giving them alibis? Explaining what?

No bond was set. He will be making his first apperance on Monday at 2:00. I think I might go down for it. It will be soooo crowded, that's the problem.

He did not have on jail clothes yet, but he did have on a medical type scrub top and casual shorts. I wonder if he was working somewhere he wore scrubs. That's scary. Do you know where he was when he was arrested? Was he taken from his apt.?

None of his neighbors seem to know him at all. If those who lived right beside him never saw him, it's doubtful he would have been friendly with JG who lived even further away.

I think D is ruled out....there are some gaps in the story, but i am not sure it matters anymore. we may never know about those gaps. what we can hope for is that this young man will somehow want to tell the truth about what happened, if he can. He may have been so high and crazy that he does not totally remember.

Don't bet on him admitting.. most cases they deny it to the bitter end, but if he was high on meth, he probably won't remember very much. People on that stuff see things that aren't there, etc. so reality and halucinating gets confused I would imagine.

He owns a 2000 Mazda ...it was towed by the cops for processing.

WTVD reported... sources say the 2001 break-in may have originally been a felony involving a female victim.

His sister told ABC11 that the family is not yet prepared to talk about Williford.

"We just don't know what to do right now," she said.

============================================
I can't imagine how devastating this is to his family.

His recent mug looks as if he is bare-chested, possibly from a strip-search. So, the blue smock could possibly be something you put on after the search. Doesn't look like something he would have worn - even at a medical job. Not to me. Reminds me of a medical exam smock.

That's what worries me. If he denies it and his defense team uses everything available to them, it could get tricky. I hope they have that covered.

Makes sense about the medical smock. Perhaps there was DNA of his skin scratched and under KT's nails. THAT would be difficult to explain.

And when I said bear-chested, of course, it's BARE-chested. Time to hit the hay!

He was wearing a swim suit.
It was very warm today...perhaps he was arrested w/o a shirt?
Makes sense to me.

Kinda looks like a paper shirt to me (like they give you in some doctors' offices.) Maybe the police have started holding onto paper shirts for perps who show up partially clothed. I really don't know - just guessing.

We've seen this before, where someone had a history of B/E and eventually ends up raping and murdering a victim. IMO, it was most likely a crime of opportunity.

I'm fairly confident they KNOW this is the guy. Per an earlier video from this afternoon, I believe, neighbors said LE had been around the neighborhood for several days, inquiring about the 'suspects' house and info on 'who' lived there. There was also an unmarked, plain clothes LE staking out the neighborhood, (I believe more specifically his house) for the past two days or so.

From what I've seen of NC LE, they don't make an arrest unless they're POSITIVE they can get a conviction. Of course, there's always the possibility of a 'not guilty,' but I'm pretty sure they BELIEVE they have a conviction here.

JMHO
fran

PS....believe me! There's been a few times where I've gotten frustrated with NC LE NOT arresting someone that was very OBVIOUS the perp. But alas! They just want to be sure they have it right. After all, they only get one chance to convict....fran

Agree - they want to be sure. In hopes of an update, spoke with a captain of RPD yesterday in preparation for our regularly scheduled neighborhood watch meeting last night (he spoke at the first one last year). We are about 1.5 miles from crime scene. Anyway, I felt comfortable after talking that they had someone in mind. It was more what he didn't say than what he did say.

He said they had been working it day and night. That they'd increased car and foot patrol as well as undercover around Glenwood, Oberlin, Cartier and surrounding area. He said they had not ruled out random (company line) & to basically tell neighbors to take the same precautions they always do and report anything suspicious. I had a sense that he wasn't worried (about an unknown killer on the loose). Almost always when I call with questions, he tells me just about as much as he can and this time there was little to share.
I shared how frustrating it is to be in the dark (we as citizens) and he said his personal experience with homicide has been that publicizing info has come back to seriously jeopardize their case in prosecution. Like you said, you get one chance to convict. I am very proud of our LE.
