A Charlotte insurance agent will spend at least 27 years and 9 months in prison after he pleaded guilty Friday to the murder of a state insurance investigator who was auditing his company.
Michael Howell pleaded guilty Friday morning to second-degree murder in the death of Sallie Rohrbach and will serve a minimum of 15 years and 3 months in return.
Last week, Howell pleaded guilty to 25 counts of embezzlement and agreed to serve 12 years and 6 months on those charges. The two sentences will run consecutively.
