As I attempt to hold back the tears from reading about Shaniya and this horrendous, disgusting story I just wanted to say that there have been a few posts that talk bad about Shaniya's father. I can't understand why anyone would point the finger at him and say... "you should have done this or done that". He made the statement that he "wanted her to be a better mother" and the only reason he allowed her to go was because she appeared to have got her life together.
I can only imagine the guilt that this poor man must feel. He stepped up when Shaniya's egg donor lost custody originally when he (like other men) could have just let her go to the system. He RAISED this little girl for five years and most likely at the fact that his daughter was constantly asking about her mother...let her go back. And because of this is going to have to bury his baby girl.
Can we as parents please acknowledge this man as a victim and not a contributor...the egg donor and the sick animal that did this to her are to blame.
My heart felt sympathy goes out to SHaniya's father and the rest of her family.

Some of you are surprised that she showed no type of emotion in her first court appearence...I for one am not, she had no trouble giving her child away to have these disgusting creeps do whatever they did to poor Shaniya.How can we excpect her to care that she has been found dead? She's a first class , she's an animal, never mind let me retract that bcus most animals care more about their babies more than this poor excuse for a human being has. I hope she gets the chair-if not I'm sure somebody will be more than happy to do us the favor from the inside.

I could not agree more with everyone regarding that spokeswoman, she made me ill, then to call the body an "IT" just broke my heart. For the aunt to say she is a good/loving mother to her children ( ya know, the daughter she wouldn't visit, just got 3 wks ago from the father then accused of selling her into a sex ring) and to think that she is having another child on top of all of this makes my skin crawl. Who will get that baby? Coe? I really had high hopes that this child would have been found alive. Very sad.

I'm checking out for awhile too so I can cool off and call the number to vent to the proper authorities about their spokeslady.

Then I'll probably have a good cry for Shaniya, her daddy and all who loved her. I can't imagine how they must feel because I am angry and upset over this little angel who touched so many hearts with her sweet, brave little smile.

IIRC,Kudzu came over to the US by LBJ's wife years ago. We have alot of it growing here in GA. It grows rapidly.

Yes, very very long vines. They can grow more than a foot a day in the summer and it dies off in winter. It is an invasive species. Edible too. Haha.

Just wanted to say how painful it is to know Shaniya wasn't found alive.

I'm losing faith in mankind as a whole. I try to be positive but more and more I don't see any hope for us. Animals behave better than some "human" beings do.

I hope the police department and the district attorney are able to give little Shaniya justice. She deserves it!!!!

I think I can speak for everyone when I say that we can all empathize. It's so difficult to be positive when we are inundated with horror stories like Shaniya's.

When a good ending comes along, or when we see a story about people doing something kind or heroic, I cling to that. I try to remember stories like the prisoners who saved that guard from another prisoner, or the Elizabeth Smarts & the Jaycee Dugards surviving & escaping.

It's all I can do to stop from losing hope in (wo)mankind sometimes and I'm often on the edge of losing myself in rage at the injustices of the world.

Yesterday I had to log off & take a break from WS. Sometimes we need to give ourselves time-outs. *hugs*

For those of you not in the South who are not familiar with kudzu - it is the most invasive vine you could ever imagine. It covers everything, whole entire trees included, and is almost impossible to kill. The legend here is that it was imported from Japan, and then it took over. I don't know for sure if the Japanese origin is true, but I can tell you for sure that it has taken over!

WTH? $51,000 bond? Why has it not been raised now that Shaniya has been found dead? Her low life, drug dealing friends and relatives are probably hitting all the crack houses as I type trying to get up enough money to post bail.
