I always thought was a WS approved term.
Well if it isn't I'm busted.

Actually as strange as it may seem to some people, I hold the mother more responsible for Shaniya's rape and murder than the (PERSON) she handed her daughter over to. She was her mother FGS and was suppose to love and protect her. She should die as well as this (PERSON). She is worse than he is.
ITA
She absolutely DESERVES the DP.
But she would never get the DP. There is case study to support it.
I read it somewhere. I'll see what I can find.
I believe MAM's starts on October 31? How fitting, for a true Monster on earth. Actually, he gives monsters a bad name!

Lonetraveler, I always said the same thing!!! It makes me physically ill to even think of it.
Here is what I read....
Prosecutors then told the judge they do not intend to seek the death penalty against Antoinette Davis.
West said that after consulting with the state Attorney General's Office, prosecutors determined that a U.S. Supreme Court decision in 1982, Enmund v. Florida, would preclude the death penalty because Davis did not intend for her daughter to die.
That case established that the Constitution's Eighth Amendment prohibits death sentences for defendants in felony murder cases who did not themselves kill, try to kill or intend to kill anyone.

Thanks for the link Kimberly.
While I 'get it' and after FCA I even know the DP is probably not the road to take for AD, how do they know she didn't intend for Shaniya to die? Because she said so? Hogwash! She knew she was handing her precious baby over to be raped to settle her own drug debt...I don't think she gave a flying fig what MAM did with her when he was done. Failure to protect should count the same as any other accomplice to murder, whether there was explicit intent or not.
Oriah, I was never pro DP but this type of crime pushed me over the edge. MAM will serve no useful purpose to anyone for the next 50 years or so in prison - just like Lucas Coe who raped and beat 4 yo baby Emma Thompson to death after inflicting her with herpes. Emma's mother (gah) failed to protect her too. There are some crimes that just can't be tolerated in society and these subhumans need to be stopped forever. Aside from preventing them from ever hurting another child, I fail to see why they should be allowed simple human pleasures like eating and breathing. I guess that sounds vindictive and heartless, I should work on that.
I understand, LCoastMom. I'm just trying hard to hang onto my beliefs here. Some days are good- some not so much.
And you know what is...just so incredibly horrifying to me?
I think AD truly didn't know MAM was going to murder Shaniya. Because she didn't expect him to. Because she expected to be able to 'trade' her again. Because Shaniya was a commodity. And who doesn't understand supply and demand?
I don't know how these people don't spontaneously combust from the evil that lives within them.
Where's that emotional toll thread again?
Your baby girl, AD. Your baby girl.
(((Oriah))) it's hard, it is.
I'm hoping to hear at the trial why AD called 911? Why she pointed them at her latest baby daddy, instead of MAM? If what we've heard is correct she knew darn good and well exactly who had her baby. If she was truly interested in getting her baby back well and alive, why didn't she tell the truth from the onset? Why did she wait over an hour to make that call...what did she think, that MAM could just traipse back into that h*llhole with Shaniya and all would be well? I can't buy it. Maybe she just didn't think, but I'm having trouble with that too.
I have nothing, nothing at all positive to say or think about either one of these two.
I need to go find the time of the 911 call and the time of the hotel video. Thats a VERY good point...WHY did she call 911? There had to be a reason/trigger.
Here's our beautiful angel:
Shaniya was seen with him Tuesday, about an hour after she disappeared from her home in Fayetteville, roughly 30 miles away.

Shaniya:
Police responded to the home around 6:50 a.m., and Shaniya's mother told officers that she last saw her daughter at 5:30 a.m. The mother's boyfriend and her sister, along with an infant and Shaniya's 7-year-old brother were also in the home when the girl went missing.

Photos found at above links also.
I'll try to find the 911 release and the time stamped video too. On memory I'm thinking it was just over an hour when the call was made and the video was time stamped a short time after the call, but I could be remembering wrong.

LCoastMom, I'm having some trouble processing all of this evil today- because I...well let's just say I can't process it.
But what if MAM murdered Shaniya out of 'jealousy?' And that explains the phone call(s)?
God- I think I'll go vomit now.
From the 911 call: "I woke up this morning, and my daughter was not in the house. I don't know if she walked out. I don't know what going on, but she's not here," Davis said.
Later in the nearly three-minute call, her voice is completely calm as she noted twice that Shaniya knew how to unlock the front door.
"I'm telling you she knows how to unlock it. I'm hoping that she didn't unlock it and walk out," Davis told the dispatcher.

Antoinette Davis reported Shaniya Davis missing on Tuesday, Nov. 11. The investigation first led authorities to arrest a man named Clarence Coe, but charges against him were dropped a day later when investigators tracked down McNeill after receiving a tip from a hotel employee.

His arrest Friday came after a worker at a Comfort Suites hotel in Sanford reported seeing a child matching Shaniya's description with a man at the hotel Tuesday.
A security video showed the girl with a man believed to be McNeill at the hotel at 6:11 a.m. By the time Fayetteville investigators reached the hotel, however, the man and the child had checked out, police said.

McNeill, 29, has so far been charged with kidnapping. Police claim he admitted taking the girl, but his lawyer, Allen Rogers, said he will plead not guilty. Either way, Fayetteville police said he was of no help in finding Shaniya Davis.
