Police in Charlotte are asking for the public’s help finding a missing man with special needs who was last seen on Tuesday.

Spencer Stratton, 35, was last seen around 3:18 p.m. Tuesday at his school, Life Span, on Kalynne Street near Lakewood Park. Officials say Stratton has been diagnosed with autism and is non-verbal.

Stratton, who is under the legal guardianship of Mecklenburg County Department of Social Services, is believed to be with an unauthorized family member or friend.

Stratton has black hair and brown eyes. He is 5′11″, weighs 110 lbs, and was last seen wearing a black shirt, black pants, a red and black jacket and gray shoes.

Anyone who sees Stratton or has information on his whereabouts is asked to immediately call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.

NCDPS - Silver Alert - Active Alerts

FindLaw's Court of Appeals of North Carolina case and opinions.
"On 30 January 2001, the Mecklenburg County Division of Social Services (“DSS”) filed a juvenile petition alleging the Stratton children to be neglected and dependent...the district court issued a non-secure custody order placing the children in foster care."
Spencer was 17 and this included his 9 siblings . Silver alert still active.

It says they believe him to be with a non-authorized family member or friend. I suppose his parents may "unauthorized" if the kids were found to be abused/neglected and they were removed from the parents custody.

It frustrates me when the alerts get canceled or expired without the person being found! Makes little sense to me.
The NC alerts never say if someone was found when cancelled, even if cancelled because the person was found. So there is a chance Spencer was found.

The FindUS Network on Facebook has his poster marked Found Safe as of 2 weeks ago. It’s a person updating the post dated April 17th. One of the links is below:
