The army was not so swayed by these prosecutors that they would have put themselves front and center trying a decorated member who was one of their own if they did not have sufficient evidence. The defense wanted to find a way to place his sperm in her, and they did. Cross contamination? Nope, not buying that one either.
Sperm was found in the first trial. At least if you watched the 20/20. What got him a new trial was the fact that the photos were projected over his head. It was a stupid mistake, and understandably human given the crime scene. And one that would never be made again I am sure.
