I don't know. That argument at the golf course has me concerned.

He must have felt awkward and uncomfortable, to leave like that, especially walking away instead of driving? Did he not own his own vehicle? That's something that is puzzling me- if he was going to leave, and he had a vehicle of his own, why not drive away? Or was he inebriated and decided to walk instead of drive? Something made him want to get out of that house and fast. No man or woman just walks away literally from his home and wants a ride to the next state from a friend and then disappears, unless he either did drown or foul play is involved.

I think that if he harmed himself, he would have been found by now. Even his phone hasn't been located, correct?
*If* he were inebriated, that would make sense that he stormed off. It goes with the territory. As far as being found - not necessarily, especially if he ended up in water.

Prayers for resolution for this beautiful family

They had a vehicle, but they were in Gering visiting B.E’s family. If he had taken the vehicle he would have left his wife and daughter there without transportation.
He wanted to leave and head back home, I heard that B.E. went inside the house to start getting their things and he took off walking to cool off and never returned. But if B.E. was getting their things so they could head back home, then he wouldn’t have needed to call anyone for a ride, right after he left the house.
So, maybe she didn’t want to leave. It’s a 3.5 hr drive, it was already evening time, they have a new baby & he had been drinking all day. So he took off walking to cool off & called his friends for a ride, who weren’t able to come get him, he walks around Terrytown for a while. The storm hits, he sends a text to his Aunt, and then not too long after the storm ended, his phone goes dead and there is no trace of him.

Respectfully snipped for commentary response.
This is such a sad case, as they all are. I'm sure waiting for the confirmation of what the family already knows in their hearts, must be unbearable.
We are at a point in time where Chance's earthly remains should be discovered if he has been in water, which is my theory. I speculate answers will be coming soon.

My continued prayers for Chance's family and loved ones. Such a lovely family.

Family fears the worst two months after Wyoming man Chance Englebert vanishes from Gering, Nebraska
This the latest I have found, nothing we didn't already know. His wife was going to start nursing school up in Gillette, Wi. and it sounds like she has. I guess life goes on, very difficult for the families.

Snipped from that article:
“When he gets mad, he’ll walk to cool down,” Baylee said. “But I didn’t think he’d go far. He just kept walking until I couldn’t see him. I didn’t think he was serious.

He wasn't serious about what? What exactly did he say as he was walking away? That he was leaving her? that he was going to do something to himself? What?

There is still no detail regarding what the argument was about exactly. Maybe it doesn't matter. But then again maybe it does.

If he did walk away from circumstances in his life and has gone to start a new life, does LE follow up in any way or is he considered an adult that can live his life as he sees fit.
Actually, what I am asking is if he is living under his own name in another state and has a job and is paying into SS can LE access those records and track him down or do they just leave it alone.

If he walked away, and the mother of the child files for government benefits the state will attempt to offset the cost of those benefits by seeking support from him. So he won't be able to hide forever without assuming a new identity and new SSN. The state can (and likely will) seek support even if the parent does not.

The Nicholas Francisco case is a good example of this.

I think this is a highly unlikely scenario, but I’ve been surprised before.

I wonder what he said in his text to his Aunt. If that would provide a clue somehow.

So the story that they lived with her family isn't true?

Something isn't right here.

The thing is, we don't know for a fact that he was inebriated.

We're getting bits and pieces from the mother of his child. We don't know his side of the story, which is why we're in this thread.

Perhaps he is in the water somewhere, which is sad in itself.

However, there's more to this than what meets the eye, in my opinion. Stories are changing. Things being added and subtracted.

So, I shall sit on my hands for now.

Agree completely.
However, given the time that has elapsed, and our history of seeing so many males on these threads end up in the water....I can't help but come to the conclusion we've lost him to the water.

I would be so happy to be wrong.
I also agree there is a backstory, and we'll probably never know it.

Very early on in this, like the first few days, there were so many contributions to SM by friends and family having to do with content of the argument at the golf course, speculation as to what happened etc. It was all quickly taken down and from that point nothing other than prayers etc. were posted.
Having read those postings when they were available led me to strongly feel he had taken a walk away from his married life, and also from his own family.
The fact that the Gering Police dept. has not asked for assistance from the FBI or the Nebraska State Police seems to support this.
There have been exhaustive searches by LE and private groups with dogs and no body has been discovered.
This is just my MOO MOO MOO

Your points are well taken, however from appearances online, he appeared to be very close to his family. They just looked like a stable, all american family. Even if he walked away from his marriage (which is not my speculation), I have a hard time thinking he walked away from his family.

Of course, I've been shocked by outcomes before, and let's hope this is one of them. (In a positive way). I'm still praying for some miracle, and reunification. Highly improbable tho, IMO. If I recollect correctly, the wife speculates he has passed, and seemingly, she knows alot more of the background story then we do.

Where are you Chance?

Amateur opinion and speculation

There is address history that shows a Moorecraft WY address (PO Box) for Chance.
I know, but man alive, that story keeps changing. It started out that they were living there with her family, to now they were visiting.

Believe me, the story keeps getting things added and subtracted. Deleted and re-written. This is where my thoughts are being formed about this.

I just hope that Chance is alive and well somewhere. That nothing terrible happened, not of his own doing. He has a story but can't tell it right now, for whatever reason, and he may never be able to tell it.

What about the video of the tracking dogs using a pair of his worn socks. They tracked from the house to a wooded area and then just stopped. Does anyone know anything about the video and area? Was the video just taken a week ago or is it older video taken when he first went missing?
