Police have made another arrest in the investigation into a murdered mother and her missing 5-year-old son. The girlfriend of murder suspect Roberto Martinez-Marinero is now behind bars, charged with being an accessory to the homicide.
Officers have identified her as 24-year-old Gabriela Guevara.
Meanwhile, crews have returned to the Elkhorn River to continue the search for a 5-year-old boy missing since Wednesday. Police said they have reason to believe Josue Ramirez-Marinero was thrown into the river; however, they have not given up hope he could still be found alive.

Does anyone know in this state if they have a charge like accessory ' after the crime' ? I wonder if she helped him hide evidence when he came to her after OR if she actually helped him plan and/ or carry out the crimes. tia

God bless every single SAR specialist, every investigator, everyone in a supporting role (as well as) the fine men and women in LE searching for Little Josue, and every person bringing food and water out on the Elkhorn River on today's search.
Each of you play a role in finding a child ripped from a family's love, safety and security. I can't imagine the terror of having your own elder brother doing something like this to you :tears: :no:
I continue to hold out hope on this Saturday morning/afternoon for a miracle. If any child deserves one, it is him. I just want him to be able to hug his little brother here, on this earth.

Yes, los. By his own elder brother after he murdered their Mom and placed their younger brother in a dumpster. Thankfully he was found alive before the dumpster was taken by the refuse company!
This is day #2 of the Elkhorn River search. The brother's girlfriend was just arrested.
My fellow WSers, please chime in if I missed anything. :blushing:

Wow....well let's see. I have this metal bat that I need to use sometime. Also, I don't know how many of you have been to the Grand Canyon in Arizona, but there's this river called the Colorado River. I sure would like for him to see it. Although you have to be careful. One might accidentally slip and fall into the river, almost as if you were thrown into it. Just saying.....

Authorities resumed the search for Josue Ramirez-Marinero along the Elkhorn River Saturday morning.
"We have a total of seven boats in the water, we have air supports from the Omaha Police Department, the FBI, Douglas County Sheriff's Office, OPD and the State Patrol are assisting with ground operations and searching the ground," said Capt. Kerry Neumann with the OPD Criminal Investigation Bureau.
"We're searching the water near the bridge and downstream from Center Street, checking the east and west banks. There's a lot of debris, trees, other obstructions on the water. The dive team will be searching underneath there to try to locate anything. At this time, the operation will continue throughout the day until we are successful in locating Josue."

I installed the Periscope app just to watch the videos. They are incredible.
This one took my breath away. Capt. Neumann's interview is very telling, especially at the end (he asked media to shut the cameras down - saying "no questions"). He mentioned the word "recovery" at one point, and the reporter asked for clarification. The Captain said, "Shut 'em down" then said it was Search and Rescue and Recovery. IMO, there was another moment or two earlier in his statement when he self-corrected before saying "recovery." (After watching the other Periscope videos, it is a wide river crossing, and the bridge is high :scared: They are moving Heaven and earth to find this beautiful boy, but the odds are stacked against them.

The reporter then said she didn't hear him say to turn off the cameras. End video.
I encourage you all to watch this and all of @ChinhDoan's Periscope videos. There's nothing else like seeing the search itself.
