Oh boy...another twist. It's not looking good for the attorney to be able to come up with an innocent explanation.

I think you're right. I believe that there's an article posted earlier on this thread that mentions charging him with double homicide if it's confirmed that she was pregnant. I wonder if they would be able to determine the pregnancy after her body has been missing all of this time.
I don't know how it's done, but I am almost 100% certain that yes they could tell. I know a fair amount about forensics and anthropology and crime science (though I don't have a degree). From what I understand, yes they could. I do stand to be corrected if anyone knows more than I do, but I strongly feel he will be charged with a double homicide.

I've searched for almost an hour trying to find out if you can still detect HCG after a certain amount of time. I haven't found anything that can confirm that, but I would guess (I am definitely no expert) that you would be able to still detect it from the blood at the scene. If only they could find her they would be able to know for sure.....

Interesting New Info....

Jessica O'Grady's DNA was found on a sword, a mattress and tools belonging to Christopher Edwards, a prosecutor said today in court.

Edwards, 19, faces charges of second-degree murder and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony in connection with the death of O'Grady, also 19.
Investigators have said O'Grady was Edwards' girlfriend. Edwards also has another girlfriend, and she is pregnant, as was O'Grady, according to two people familiar with the investigation who spoke on condition of anonymity. The two women knew each other, one of the people said.

after reading the above post, if he had another girl friend and she was pregant. that really may shed a motive light. he most likely knew the other girl longer and he has a relationship with jessica and later finds out she also is pregnant. then he would most likely want her out of the picture and not be discovered as having a cheating lifestyle to his other girlfriend, what a financial responsibility he would be facing with two girlfriend each bearing a child he fathered. I would almost bet that the baby jessica was pregnant with was his. his family has to know more than they are letting out. a bloody room that needed a lot of cleaning kinda stands out in my mind, so they help clean it up. maybe there is someone in the family that owns some farm land somewhere?

I completely agree with your post. Here is a quote from the Omaha.com article in post #55....

Ehly said he went golfing with Edwards on May 10, hours before O'Grady's disappearance. Ehly said Edwards talked about his relationship with a young woman other than O'Grady. Ehly said he had never heard Edwards talk about O'Grady.

"If there was another girl in his life, he would have definitely mentioned it to me," Ehly said.

I find it very interesting that he didn't tell his good friend anything about Jessica. I think he planned to do this... how sad.

Her youthful smile just kills me.Her face was filled with so much hope. Little angel....but someone made her an angel too soon. Lessons learned don't always take away the grief. Prayers for her family!

More appropriately at this point, why didn't someone just pull it off.His proclivity isn't something I would spend time on. He murdered for his own self-interest. He made choices that involved someone's life and someone times two apparently. I have no sympathy for him nor his clean up crew. I am not there for this young man at all. I hope he gets the death penalty.

I am hoping that the aunt, and stepmother cave in really soon like Avery's nephew did. I don't think they can live with this long. I also hope that they are still looking for Jessica since they found blood in the trunk of her car. DP is no good now that the supreme court has put a hold on cruel and unusual punishment.

That makes me want to scream...."the supreme court has put a hold on cruel and unusual punishment." How about how cruel it is when one person takes a sword to another person and hacks them up...probably into little pieces considering the blood bath in that room. I'm so sick of all of the rights these killers receive. Maybe the Supreme Court should put the word out to would be killers....."you murder someone and you will receive the death penalty...no matter how cruel and unusual you think that punishment is." Cruel and unusual punishment my azz. I think they should still use Old Sparky. Then they would really have something to whine about. We are talking about punishment. The bible says "do unto others as you would have them do unto you." So if you take a life in a most horrible way then that is how your life should end. Darn Supreme Court....where are their heads? I know...right up their rear ends.

It sounds to me like he was using Jessica. The two girls knew each other and probably didn't have a clue that they were seeing the same guy or that they were both pregnant by him. I'll bet this kid just thought he was a real stud muffin with two girls sleeping with him. Someone should have been paying attention to birth control. Obviously none of them were worried about it.

I hope that Jessica had been to a doctor. If she had then that will be proof enough. I would think that they could test some of the blood in the room though and it will show that she was pregnant.

I think the rest of the family should be charged with something. I believe that LE had to break their door down after they had been over their once as the family wouldn't open the door. And then there is the fact that they tried to clean up a murder scene.

In an odd coincidence, (or is it?) I spoke to a family member this evening and found they went to high school with Jason and were classroom friends.

A problem that I just recalled with the Hcg test is that the Hcg level can rise in cases not only due to pregnancy. In that case, it's imperative that the body is located. Here's a link to some information:

I don't think any of us are "there for this young man".

I think it's rather disgusting that he not only got two girls pregnant, but that his family apparently didn't teach or raise him right AND he murdered an innocent girl in an extremely horrific manner, thus ending her and her baby's life.

Kelly which family member went to school with Jason? That truly is strange being so geographically close to you.

I just don't understand why people believe that murder is their best option??? He's young, has 2 girls pregnant and is working at a restaurant....tough situation, but when does murder become the option that you go to? It makes absolutely no sense to me. Do people truly believe that they can just kill someone and *poof* their problems are gone? I have absolutely no sympathy for this guy. Sorry - I am just so saddened by the recent events here in the Omaha metro.... :( if I didn't have my Faith, it would be even harder to comprehend. May the Lord grant the families of Jessica, Amber and Tracy some peace..

It's not one who's been in the media....a cousin, I believe.

My younger son, Michael, went to HS with Jessica, but he was a sophomore when she was a senior, so he did not know her.

I am sickened by this whole case. I wish soooo very badly that they could find Jessica, not only to give Jessica's family some closure but to give this guy the punishment he truly deserves. When I'm driving around town I wonder to myself, "maybe she could be here, I wonder if searchers have looked there..." I really think if a large group of caring Omaha citizens could band together and organize a search, that Jessica could be found. The suspect made very stupid decisions in the whole process, and I really think that because her car was found so easily that he didn't make much of an effort to take Jessica very far. It has to be somewhere this guy is familiar with. I hope authorities are keeping an eye on the family, because they probably know where she is. And if they find out authorities are looking in a certain area close to Jessica, they could definitely go back and move her body. As for the previous post about seeing if any of the suspect's family members have farmland, I really hope authorities look into this!

Please, if you live in the Omaha area, be more aware of your surroundings and take a look around your homes and properties, don't hesitate to take a look around if you're out camping or doing anything outdoors. If you notice anything at all, let authorities know. Jessica needs to be found.

There is another search scheduled for Saturday the 17th. Searchers are to meet at 156 & Maple Sheriff's office south east corner between 8:30 and 9:00 AM. [After 9 there will be no one at the search headquarters.] There will be signs where we are to park.
Searchers are requested to wear clothing to protect them from poison ivy, oak and nettles.

If you can not be there the family asks for prayers.
(If anyone wants a copy of the email from the family please PM me with your email address and I will forward it. It says basically what I have posted above.)

KETV.com - News - 'Area Of Interest' Is False Alarm

... At 4 p.m., deputies went to the lake to check out what was described as a KETV photographer as an area that looked like "a shallow grave." Deputies determined that the area was not related to the O'Grady case.

Searcher D.J. Ginsburg told KETV NewsWatch 7 that it looked like someone had dug a hole and filled it back in. He said his team will keep searching until sundown on Thursday. He said it was disappointing to hope they'd found something, only to find out it was not a clue in the case.

Members of the USATV Search and Rescue team spent several hours combing the area around the lake on Wednesday afternoon, after investigators got a tip that O'Grady's body may be there...
