Pretty big development today: http://www.ketv.com/news/26071591/detail.html

From the article: A court affidavit obtained by KETV, investigators said Keadle lied to them by telling them he only saw Thomas during the early morning hours of Friday.

Instead, investigators said, Keadle and Thomas drove out of Peru and had sexual contact. A physical and verbal confrontation ensued, they said. Keadle told them Thomas threatened to tell everyone he raped her.

Keadle returned to his dorm room. Investigators believe he showered to get rid of any evidence on his body.

Peru, NE - Crews search the Missouri River looking for Ty Thomas. The Peru State College freshman was last seen early Friday morning.
.................
Breaking up ice chunks along the Missouri River banks, the Missouri State Water Patrol and Nemaha Sheriff's Office slowly search the river, looking for Ty Thomas or clues that will lead investigators to her. "We're here for a reason and at this time, that's about all I can say," said Chief Deputy of Nemaha Sheriff's Office Kris Baker.

prayers for Tyler's family - this doesn't sound good :(

ETA: guess this is why they're searching the river :(

PERU, Neb. (AP) - A 29-year-old man has told investigators that he had sex with a missing Peru State student, struggled with her but left her on a boat dock near the Missouri River.

For the past three days, since authorities arrested a 29-year-old fellow student in the case, the search effort has been focused on the Missouri River just east of the city, near a boat ramp at the end of a stretch of dirt road leading from Peru's business district. Boats have been in the water, and firefighters have used hoses to break up ice along the bank.
....................
Nunez said Keadle had a reputation for allegedly sexually harassing other women on campus, but not Thomas. She's too tough to be harassed, Nunez said. Plus, she said, "Ty has a lot of guy friends."
....................
Nemaha County Attorney Louie Ligouri wouldn't say whether information from Keadle had led investigators to the river. He said the rest of the area around the college and the town had been searched exhaustively.

Ligouri said he didn't know how long the sheriff's office, Nebraska State Patrol and other agencies planned to continue actively searching for Thomas.

Sorry about duplicating your post Summer Breeze. I didnt realize we had rolled over to a page two so I didnt see that the article was already posted :-)

Just to let everyone know, it is exceptionally cold here now, for the last three days the high has been about 10 degrees, 15 if we are lucky today. Soon, if not already, the river is going to start icing in spots, so I'm not really sure how they will be able to search in the water. Thankfully we havent had a ton of snow so bank searches may still be feasible.

This article gives some interesting history on Keadle's activity since he has been in Nebraska. Seems like he has a history of inapproriate behavior towards women, not to mention a shady character in general and bouncing from small town to small town.

ugh - it makes me sick to my stomach to read about him....it really does not sound good for Tyler that she crossed paths w/ him.

I hope he doesn't have more vics that are missing.

Update: More Charges Filed Against Joshua Keadle

He's the "person of interest," in the case of missing Peru State student Tyler Thomas.

Keadle is also facing new charges in a case concerning a different victim. They were filed Tuesday in Nemaha County.

Those charges: False Imprisonment, Terroristic Threats, and three counts of Sexual Assault in the First Degree.

The victim is not being identified in this case, but authorities say the charges come from an incident on or around October 31st in Nemaha County. The victim was allegedly held without her consent and raped.

County Attorney Louie Ligouri, however, charged Keadle with three counts of first-degree sexual assault, one count of false imprisonment and one count of terroristic threats related to an Oct. 31 incident involving a woman identified as “K.J.”

Nemaha County Judge Curtis Maschman set bail at $750,000 on those charges.

Ligouri had argued for high bail because of the serious nature of the charges. He noted that Keadle is a South Carolina resident and doesn't have family members in southeast Nebraska. Keadle also has no job and has been suspended from Peru State.

more here - including Keadle claiming he wants to finish 2 more semesters & "clean up this situation".

They shouldn't let anyone over 25 live in the undergraduate dorms.

I feel so bad for Ty, I truly hope she is found alive even though signs point to otherwise.

PERU, Neb. -- Peru State College student Tyler Thomas remained missing Wednesday morning, but her fellow students gathered Tuesday night to pray for her.

Feeling a bit helpless, but not yet hopeless, a handful of students huddled together on campus.

Nancy is covering Tyler tonight (12/15/10) and it looks like it will be around the second half of the show.
