My jail bird brother who is also a pathological liar, psychopath and druggie, finds the Lord each time he's incarcerated (he's in right now - writes letters to my mother about how he has been saved).
When he gets out and it lasts about 60 days (maybe), and then he's back to the same old same ole. He's so much like KC it scares me. Numero uno is all he cares about, and all he ever will. Sad to say, but true. Oh - forgot to mention...last time he was out...he went to church, where he met a very nice single lady with a son. He moved in with her, and proceeded to wipe her out and ruin her financially, before being arrested for it and put back in jail. Sound like someone else we know?
I don't think the preacher revealed anything to the NE either. Their headline is a little 'skewed' too don't you think? Jailhouse confession to the preacher? Nobody has posted that she confessed to anyone. Did the article have something else that pointed to a confession? Just curious, and thanks for sharing the inside scoop lol.
I have a brother who has the same drug history, same difficulty telling the truth, same pathology, same modus operandi, same revolving door to the prison system, same character flaws, and same little tricks with the single mother from church that he ruined fnancially by stealing her checks and credit cards. He gets out for a short time (no more than 5 months, but always reoffends within 30 days or so), gets tossed back in, finds God AGAIN, and worms his way back out to the streets. He calls Mom and tells her that he is a changed man, and of course, she wants to believe him, but the lies are still the same old crapola that he has been spewing for years now. A leopard cannot change its spots.
Any chance we might be siblings? LOL
Seriously, this type of person NEVER changes. The crux of their mindset is that they never divulge what they truly plan or intend to do--they only say what they think you want to hear so that you will quit harping on them about the waste they have made of their lives. By verbalizing to the listener that which is wanted to be heard, they garner support AGAIN, even from those whom have previously withdrawn support. (My brother's antics worked with me the first two times he tried it--after that, I withdrew all emotional support from him. He is a liar, and that will never change. It is impossible to trust someone like that.)
This is precisely how Casey operates. She has been caught in so many lies that I am sure at some point Cindy (and/or George) has told her that "This is the last time, you better tell me the truth, or else!" Each time that she is caught lying to Cindy, she comes up with another little story that might seem believable so that Cindy will get off her back.
Cindy stated that she could "always get the truth out of her eventually." Actually, what Cindy was getting out of her was a story that Cindy could accept, not that was necessarily the truth. With that new version of the story, Cindy reinstated her support, and Casey got away with another lie.
Casey stated that she was "absolutely petrified" of Cindy and her reaction to Caylee being missing. I think there was a lot of truth in that statement--not only was she petrified of Cindy's physical reaction (not wanting to endure another choking incident), but I also think she was petrified of losing the emotional/psychological support that Cindy always maintained with her.
By telling her little story about the imaginary nanny, Casey was able to convince Cindy to accept her little story, the threat of being choked by Cindy was removed, and the emotional/psychological support was retained.
This whole "finding God" thing of Casey's makes me believe that she is simply trying to show Cindy that she is going to be a "good girl" now. George stated in one of his law enforcement interviews, that they are fairly stringent in their religious beliefs. If this is true, Casey turning to God would be a blessing to her parents, and they would likely believe anything she says afterwards. After all, anyone who is God-fearing would never lie to their own parents, right? (insert sarcasm icon here)
It will be interesting to see just how Cindy reacts to Casey when they finally do see her at a court hearing. Cindy and George have apparently stated that they are not going to visit her in jail, but they plan to support her.
Does this mean that they want nothing more to do with her, but will do what they must in order for her to avoid a possible death sentence? Or does this mean that they have washed their hands of her and the support is going to be monetary?
See, they leave a lot of information out of those media reports. I wish one of our WebSleuths' members was allowed to interview these people--we would really get some answers then!
