taking the Mail's newest report with a grain of salt. Sometimes they are on the money, sometimes notsomuch. But this bit is interesting in a troubling way.

MailOnline can also reveal FBI agents have been asking Kibby’s neighbors a string of baffling questions, including whether they had ever seen him burn or bury anything and whether he was often spotted digging.

So Abby contacted her bf and as predicted his father ran right out to tell the press about it. SMH. and then proceeded to say that everyone should just now leave her alone. SMH and then went on to give his impressions of her at the court hearing. :banghead:

I am glad J is no longer suffering and I am glad that he feels reassured but honestly?

Yah right?! I thought the exact same thing. The moment he said she called his son, I thought yeah, more likely that she returned the call his son made to her, and he likely blew up her voicemail to the point where she could no longer put him off. Notice the dad said she wanted to know if *he* was ok, not the other way around. ? Some people define themselves by who they latch themselves onto. This is an ongoing investigation and he could be potentially royally screwing things up, regardless of whether his intentions were good or not. He needs to remain quiet and stop talking to the press. He used poor judgement just to make his son look "important" in her life. I'm sure he felt she needed an advocate to defend her character, but he should have kept to himself if he really and truly wants everyone to "leave her alone"

You are so right about that. But sometimes they are on the money, as you said. Sometimes I feel lately all the big news outlets just regurgitate the same story with same etchy vague details. It is so creepy to hear about the sound proof rooms and that there are people who have been inside.

And even creepier that multiple neighbors say the FBI are asking about digging, burying, and burning. Definitely onto something. I guess that could explain how she survived the winter unnoticed, if he was able to shuttle her back and forth or run power or heat to the container.

Remember early into the search they found a skull and teeth? Concepts like digging, burying, burning and containers just sounds like a recipe for very dark serial sinister behavior.

not sure why anyone would find that baffling, seems obvious they are concerned about past victims. i wonder what the other "baffling" questions were if that is the one they chose to single out.

has anyone ever heard of a case where LE put out a fake sketch to throw the suspect off?

doesnt sound like something they would do, cause a lot of public distrust, chaos with tips coming in that are of no use, and possibly vigilantism concerns on innocent people.

I highly doubt they put out a fake sketch.

Agreed. "Disturbing" would be a more apt description, imo.

Hernandez says the man drove her away from Conway on October 9, 2013, between 2:20 and 3:00 pm. At the time, the man was driving a navy blue pick-up truck. Abigail described the man as having darkish skin, dark brown eyes, black stubble facial hair, and a large build, who was slightly overweight and slightly taller than she was (5’4”).

I think the sketch may have been skewed so that NK wouldn't be spooked. He could have been promised that AH wouldn't give his identity but that doesn't mean she has to keep that promise. He could have seen the sketch and thought that he got away with his crime and then ZAP. :D

Sorry I should clarify what I meant in my last post about the sketch and subsequent arrest. I didn't mean to imply there was only one guy involved, what I meant was that some people are questioning how the sketch led to this guy's arrest since there are a number of differences. That's why I suggested that some other info. led to this guy's arrest. Hope that makes sense now.

I would like to veer off of the discussion with regard to the discrepancy between the initial sketch and the suspect - Page after page of repeated observations regarding eye color, skin color' height' shape etc., so repetitious as to confuse any reader who may be trying to discern the facts in this case.

N. Kibby wasn't arrested because of the sketch. There was no trailer, no storage container, no name or address in the sketch. There was something bigger;

"Prosecutors said they had enough information on Sunday night to obtain an arrest and search warrant for Kibby and his home."

http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...rnandez-faces-her-alleged-kidnapper-in-court/

Sunday Night!

"Abigail Hernandez, had provided investigators with enough information for them to arrest and charge Kibby"

http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/07/28/us-usa-new-hampshire-teen-idUSKBN0FX1U420140728

Abby provided it. Just like she provided info for the sketch, but in those first few days I feel that this traumatized young girl likely did the best that she could. Maybe she was still blocking it out - being questioned, examined, hugged, welcomed, etc., emotional, scared, scarred, skinny and sick - who can remember stuff?

But then by Sunday,,, They had enough information "Sunday night to obtain an arrest and search warrant for Kibby". They arrested him Monday around noon but they sent out "recorded phone calls at approximately 11:30 a.m. advising (the neighbors) to stay inside."
http://www.berlindailysun.com/index...mored-vehicle&catid=103:local-news&Itemid=442

A lot was going on and happening very quickly!
Can we catch up to the current phase and put behind (for now) this discrepancy from the first few days of this girl's return?

Rehashing her recollection from 9 months ago is feeling like people are bashing Abby, the victim, for some kind of plot to derail the investigation out of fear or whatever. REALLY?!

She Came Up With The Information To Make An Arrest!!! Let's get off the sketch and credit her for getting that done! And then showing up in court with poise and dignity to face this life long criminal who allegedly stole 9 months of her life (and much more as a result).

Let's get onto NEK and off AH and what she tried in her first few days.

:cow:

Found a skull and teeth? Did I miss something?

there is still no confirmation that she was ever in the shipping container right?

but on that note - you could quite easily construct internal rooms inside one of those, people use them for all sorts of things. so the idea that someone could be in there and never heard is reasonable, a well constructed internal room, soundproofed, and with a gap between it and the outer walls of the container - you would never hear a thing standing right outside it.

but without ventilation or cooling you could also die in such a room in short order, and any sort of ventilation would allow for the possibility of sound escaping unless you got really crafty and used some sort of "double i dont know im making this up" sort of system... but picture any sort of tube or vent system, if it can carry air thru it then it can move sound thru it.

Early into the search for Abby Fish And game searchers found a skull and teeth that ultimately was found to belong to a man who had wandered off into the woods, possibly distraught, some 7 years ago.

"a portion of a skull and teeth were found during a line search of the wooded terrain about two miles from Cranmore Mountain Resort in North Conway."
"Maj. Kevin Jordan of New Hampshire Fish and Game has said his agency wants to determine if they belong to a man reported missing about seven years ago"

My guess is that he buried and/or burned the contents of the makeshift toilet.

obviously just my opinion but i dont think she was ever in the shipping container, it just complicates things, he doesnt seem like the type of person that was having lots of company over so he could much more easily have prepared some sort of room in the house for her. i can think of many advantages and reasons to do it this way and none for keeping her in the container. (jesus this is creepy to talk about, think im done on the topic) im probably wrong tho, nothing is predictable in this case.

hopefully they have paid visit to any home depot type stores near his house and work to see if anyone there remembers him and maybe any large purchases he made of building materials (lumber, sheet rock, foam insulation), and checked his credit/debit cards for any purchases of this type.

In the UK Daily Mail referenced, it also questioned the possibility of a tunnel being built from the storage container to the house. Would this be a question Abby would know the answer to? Or perhaps she was blindfolded when/if she was moved from container to house, if that ever happened.

I agree liljim. IMO she was never in the "shipping container".

in my wee neck of the woods, we call it a dumpster...but that's neither here nor there.

interesting about the white car, dee10. I'm having mcstay flashbacks.

:hills:

I don't believe he had three cars in any event. but I am curious about the navy pickup vs. the small blue car found in his driveway. I'm still not convinced there wasn't another driver (the 'abductor' on October 9th) vs NK.

thoughts?

Don't think so. I think the difference in the sketch and NK are the quality of the sketch artist's work and Abby's ability to provide a description using correct technical terms and that would be due to lack of life experience.

I might be wrong, but I don't think people are questioning if he is the guy, just if there was more than one.

I don't doubt for a moment NK is at the very least ONE of the people responsible for Abby's abduction and restraint for 9 months.

If there was a tunnel wouldn't the FBI be able to find it without asking neighbors about it? I wonder if the presumed tunnel was to run air vent pipes, like a pvc pipe and to run electrical wiring. It gets very cold in NH in the winters so she would have to have layers of animal hides and/or expensive parkas like the Eskimos or a portable electric heater. My bet is on the heater. It is also possible she had a portable A/C unit in there. There is no way she could survive with heat or a/c in that thing.

<snip>

Dumpsters typically don't have a roof (that's how you load them, through the top). This would be even more strongly constructed than a big dumpster and designed to withstand storms at sea, clamped down to the deck of a cargo ship. A standard length is 20 feet, although they come in other sizes. Heights typically range from 8 to 9.5 feet.
