I am behind so sorry if already covered.

But is there any solid sightings after she left school ?

AHs mom stated" I dont think she ran away I just dont. "
Makes me think LE hasn't tossed that idea out yet.
Again does LE KNOW anything? Or they do and it's just being kept close to the vest?

It would've extremely rare at this point if she did runaway. Fifteen year olds don't tend to be gone for this long. I think the only way she's alive is if she is with this older guy and he's paying for food etc. other than that I just don't see it.

I still think this wasnt a random abduction. What worries me is that there are a lot of places in that area to leave a body. It seems a place that people live for many years as well. Where I'm at in Southern California people move area to area. Here, people seem to be born there and die there. I'm sure the locals would know exactly where to dump a body and it not being located for some time or ever even. A number of the locals that concern me work in outdoor industries.

Just a thought that perhaps something happened to her at or around the school and she never did make it beyond the school

I recall that the bf's Dad did say that the bf saw Abby texting away as she was walikng away form the school.

Is there a way to change the time zone here? I am eastern standard time[NH] and my posts are always reading an hour to two behind. TYIA

She is a John Lennon fan, and she vanished in his birthday. Lots of people head to NYC on a sort of pilgrimage on that day.

Anyway...I just wish (all) LE would be more open with the public until a person is found, and worry about protecting possible clues later. JMO

Interesting.
Or someone could possibly promised to bring her there for her bday to show the pilgrimage?

I am so agreeing with you on a little transparency here by the LE, seems like they want Public's help but then again the limitations of informations is just really not helping at all.

Wow! What a great find, Cluciano! I knew she loved the Beatles but didn't even think that October 9th could have a special meaning! Are others talking about that or did you think of it? Could just be a coincidence but stranger things have happened. Maybe while everyone is searching for Avonte in NY they should keep their eyes out for Abby, too.

There is a reason police aren't releasing info. With secret service on the case and FBI I think they are better than us in determining what to release. This isn't some backwoods 2 person police department.

Click on User CP on the blue page menu above and then Edit Options from the left menu, scroll down and you'll see the place to change your time zone. :)

In all the many cases i have followed the ones with the swiftest outcomes, be they sad or happy, occur when LE works with the public. Obviously they keep some things back but there are many other things they could come forward with that would not harm the investigation and might just help it.Someone may have picked something up, someone realizes they saw something important and with LE asking all the time for help and giving out snippets they are more likely to come forward if unsure.

The FBI has a blanket policy of nothing to the public which I find harms outcomes. No blanket policy works in every case.

I think the tide is turning slowly to more public involvement but unfortunately not quickly enough. It doesn't take much, a copy of video surveillance where someone says "I know that truck that slowed down, may mean nothing but its xyz" and they turn out to be an abductor or rso on the right street at the right time. examples like that. Parents speaking out to humanize their child, in Keinan's case it resulted in a returned child, right under LE noses (they returned him to his living room)

I agree. I've felt almost from day one that this was an abduction case and that the abductor is someone Abby knew and/or trusted. Walking the same route home from school each day would make it fairly easy for someone to carefully plan an abduction well in advance. And, as you said, the locals in this area tend to be lifelong inhabitants who would know the area very well. There are a lot of hunters, fishermen, 4-wheelers and other outdoor enthusiasts in the Conway area who I'm sure know every nook and cranny in the woods including those spots where "no one would ever think of looking". If we can believe LE when they say they have no clues after all this time, then the outcome does not look promising at all. It would not surprise me in the least to have this case wind up as an unsolved cold case.

Update from Mission of the Missing (tried sharing their status but it only shares news article, this is what they wrote): "Our search partners spent 3 days in the North Conway/Conway area. More information will follow in the coming days. We did not locate Abby. We shall provide law enforcement with our reports and maps and determine what we can do next". Thank you to the group for all their efforts and footwork in the woods. Will keep you posted.

I flip flop on this case daily... Hourly sometimes...

Interesting fact (coincidental?) that AH disappeared on John Lennon's birthday... And she was quite a fan of his....

English as the second language for mom is an interesting revelation, too...

If they mean anything... I don't know....

But they lead my mind in new directions... Anyway....

JMO

I am still pondering the candy...sigh...riddles...

There are also roads up there that will be closing for the winter. Hurricane Road is one.

Here's a link to the most recent Union Leader article about Mission for the Missing's search for Abby over the weekend. The article mentions where they searched and describes items that her mother told them she likely had with her when she disappeared:

http://www.unionleader.com/article/20131028/NEWS07/131029286/0/SEARCH

"They were searching for personal items that her mother said she likely had with her when she disappeared: an oversized camouflage-colored book bag, a cream-colored purse, and a silver-colored necklace with a heart-shaped pendant that has a blue stone in it.

They searched places that might not have been covered by other law enforcement agencies looking for the teen last seen Oct. 9 — Echo Lake State Park, the Kancamagus Highway, West Side Road, and areas around the Saco River."

It seems to me that trying to search for small items in or anywhere near the woods during this time of year would be pretty much a waste of time. With all the leaves that have fallen in the past few weeks, even something the size of a sweater would be impossible to spot unless, by luck, it happens to be in an area where the wind clears the leaves. A necklace or a cell phone would definitely be impossible to spot.

Considering they found two bodies when they were first out searching for her I agree with you!

I agree. I am most impressed with NH and their immediate response to this missing girl.

And this search team that came in during the weekend was quite the elite according to what I read.

Tracking dogs, retired LE..who could ask for anything more.

We would all like to be in the know of what is happening but we need to allow LE to do their jobs they are highly trained to do.

I have been thinking this morning of others abducted during busy times and nobody seeing anything. Jessica Ridgeway was younger but taken during a busy time with lots of school and work traffic. 14-year-old Amber Dubois is coming to mind. Wasn't she abducted close to her school at prime time and nobody saw anything?

Does anybody happen to remember the details of that case because it does seem simiiar to this one with the time and age.
