If it is true they know nothing more than from day one, then they must still not know, really, if she was abducted, left on her own, lost, etc...?

I believe that if they dont know anything, they'll give more info to the public IMO

Just jumping off your post...

My wishful thinking, maybe...

But... Could LE be sending message to public (and to perp) that they "don't have any good clues" (my words) as a pretense so that the perp becomes complacent... Gets sloppy.... And slips up?

Just a thought...:dunno:

So today my thoughts are with Morgan Harrington a young woman that went missing and was found on a farm outside of town by a farmer checking his fences after a storm.

Which leads me to thinking that I hope all those with acreage in the area where Abby went missing are checking their property. Some of the days are pleasant and taking a moving vehicle and checking property lines, fencing and land in general is very important.

I haven't given up hope for an alive Abby but tick tock. Reality sets in.

I would like to give this message over on the HFMA FB page but that site is one of hope and I certainly don't want to impose.

So if anybody local has the voice and the means to remind landowners to search their property it would surely be helpful!

Maybe somebody could call the local newspaper and they might do it for the family.

TIA

Does anybody happen to have the email address for the FBI handling this case. Perhaps I could send them an email and they might put the word out.

I really think this is what was happening with Alanna Gallagher's case, but that may be incomparable because of how likely it was to be solved (multiple surveillance cameras, very small crime radius, etc). I remember the frustration on WS when a few weeks had gone by and LE started to put up "Do you know anything? 'Cause we sure don't!" reward/tipline billboards. But it turns out they had their eye on the perp from literally the hour they set foot in the neighborhood. They were just waiting for all the DNA results before arresting him. The presence of DNA makes this an even worse comparison; I guess I'm just saying I think it's very like LE to pretend to know a lot less than they do. Same thing with Willow Long's case where LE went on record right away saying they thought little Willow was acting out a cartoon adventure in a cornfield, when they had already become very suspicious of the perp and the nature of the incident overall.

I really, really hope that if there's a perp, he slips up soon. I think the only reason he hasn't gotten caught is because he had the advantage of familiarity with the landscape and with Abby's routine. If it were a true stranger just passing through I think there'd be much more to go on. Shades of Holly Bobo, unfortunately.

Ok, silence is NOT golden!!!

Release more information, so something to keep the media and public interested! I've learned one thing from following some of these cases, while I pray I'm NEVER in these parent's shoes, if something did happen to a family member, and my health allowed me to speak, I'll be screaming to anyone that will listen! Delaying and delaying only allows precious evidence to slip on by. The quicker a body is found the better.

I keep thinking about Alexis Murphy...LE kept saying they have no reason to believe she wasn't alive. Months later they are now asking hunters to keep their eyes open. Heart breaking!!!!

I hope they're shushing Zenya because she has certain suspicions that would be very hard to keep out of her tone/wording, and LE happens to share those suspicions—and they feel like the perp can't know that.

Then again, if it's a local, we have to assume he's somewhat competent in covering up evidence, so at this point, what could he do if he gets spooked, besides run? I have a feeling whoever this is is someone who can't just up and do that for work/familial obligations, and perhaps because of an interest he's already expressed to one or the other. :twocents:

So little information, still. My mind jumps from one thought to another ..... hit and run on her way home, a fall on a tricky spot on the pathway? Leaving of her own accord, abduction. It is the very quick LE response that keeps making me think the first thoughts are not possibilities. But the silence... as another poster said.... the silence is deafening.

I think if there had been a hit and run, or other accident, her body would have been found by now!

LE's message that they have nothing on the case might cause the perp to trust himself and be more comfortable and thus lessen his chance of making mistakes .. He may go on on his life as ever not tending to run away or might not behave suspiciously as one would behave in fear of being caught ..
If LE had mentioned a specific car model by now for instance the perp might have made that car washed /sold/burn etc and that LA could have a clue and trace him by such an extraordinary action ..dunno...LE needs him making mistakes and prevent him
from a new online contact which might have started already...

I hope this silence will be in favor of Abby in the end not the perp...:banghead:

Discouraged, but as much as I'd like to agree with you, I can't. I think whoever did this knew her well and planned it for some time and maybe a decade from now someone will find her on a hike. I think she may have trusted the wrong people and it cost her badly. Like others here, I'm surprised her friends aren't more concerned for themselves, it seems like the immortality of youth may be blinding them and I do hope that LE is making sure the kids are safe because someone is out there and as long as they haven't been caught they'll do it again. This is not a community I would let my child be alone at any time. JMO.

Question: I heard a few of you speaking of mountain road. Was that where a ping went off? What was the deal behind that road ...was it in center conway?

North Conway's population is only a bit over 2000. That's a pretty small town. What are the locals saying? What are the high school kids saying? There has to be some talk going on among people. Are they leaning towards RSO? Stranger? What?

Are you referring to Hurricane Mountain Road, which runs east/west north of Cranmore Mountain Resort? There's a cell tower on the top of Cranmore Mountain, and Abby's cell phone pinged off that tower at 3:07 pm. On its western end, Hurricane Mountain Road runs along the northern border of North Conway. I believe its eastern end is closed in the winter (after the houses). I remember reading somewhere that searchers have looked there. Here's a video of someone riding on that road a few years ago:

Is that near or run in to Dundee Mt Road?

What is the chance that North Conway does not want to make a big deal out of this case, because of tourism? I'm guessing there are many people in the area who have a lot of influence (business owners?) who do not want to worry about scaring off tourists and losing money because they think there is a crazed abductor/possible murderer driving around. I do not think they would like the case all over the media, help find Abigail because someone abducted her, we have no idea who did it, etc.

It made me cringe when I read the first part of your post, because I agree with it. So sad and I feel so badly about it. As for her friends, at that age they have a lot going on. We had some tragedies happen when I was in school, and we forgot it quickly. Not completely of course, but we had lots of things that kept us busy. As adults, we don't forget so easily, but teenagers minds are very malleable, and they're distracted easily by the busy world they live in. Of course they grieve, but they're distracted, most of them, and it's probably good for them in a way that they are. For those close to her though, her BF and closest friends, I'm sure it's horrible and devastating.

I've never heard of Dundee Mountain Road, so I just looked on a map, and it doesn't look like those 2 roads are near each other, or connect. Dundee Mountain Road looks like it's in Center Conway and off to the southeast of Hurricane Mountain Road. But I don't live in Conway; I only visit people who do, so perhaps a local will correct me on this if need be?

I don't think so. Everyone seems to have a devil may care attitude, which is strange from the outside looking in. Parents are still letting children openly post their lives on the internet. And I know children are typically more resilient than adults, but they seem neither concerned for their own safety nor all that concerned about the loss of what they claim was a very close friend (some referred to her as a sister). It has all the appearance of no one making that large a deal out of any of this, so I'm if there is a lack of "big deal" being made it must be something in the water up there because no one seems all that concerned. We had a young boy disappear when I was a teen and we all lost our bikes, we started locking doors even during the day, and God forbid if your parents didn't know where you were at every moment of the day and night. Not to mention, we children were all nervous and having difficulty being away from our parents, school felt unsafe, adults became people to fear and we even stopped going to the bathroom alone at school. If I were to guess, based on the town's reaction I would say they all think she ran away and perhaps she wasn't well liked because it doesn't appear she's all that badly missed. Now that's JMO, and I don't mean to cast any aspersions on the community because it does appear they've been very supportive of her mother, but the entire thing feels off.
