It looks like we have lost a lot of the regulars here. I hope they haven't lost interest.

Just because we aren't posting doesn't mean we aren't here, Donna. Personally, I must check Abby's thread 20 times a day, every day. I expect the "regulars" are checking in, too.

I find Abby's disappearance so perplexing. How is it that she simply vanished? She didn't run away, she ran away, she went with a known person though it went badly, she reached out with a letter though her safety is now of grave concern, look for her phone in the "lost and found", here's a picture of her purse and necklace, etc... OMG! All of the little tidbits amount to nothing. There are no clues as to where she might be now, just...ZIP...gone. My entire heart breaks for her family and friends and the not knowing, wondering, hoping, praying for her return. It must be a living Hell.

So let's substitute the name 'Donna' with 'Abigail'.........sorry Donna lol

<snipped>

Sorry Mods-anything to keep it going for Abigail Hernandez.

:loveyou:
,Starry Night! "...Abby, where can you be?"

Two things..

We had a family member who unfortunately.. Well, in this case fortunately - was caught on security camera riffling through our desk, open a drawer and with bare hands pull out and open an envelope stuffed with cash. She had taken almost $600 in $20 bills. Since we saw her doing this via footage, us and LE wanted fingerprints too, since she was denying the whole thing anyway. Low and behold, there were NO finger prints found on the envelope, which was a standard letter size, with the blue security design on the inside. Had we not had a security camera up it would be our word against hers without fingerprints. Nobody's fingerprints showed up, mine, husbands, hers, accidental LE. It didn't hold them.. Food for thought that not everything is fingerprintable.

Also. Did anyone catch ZH facial expression when the police chief stated the letter should have been brought to attention sooner than it had been during the pressers. Aren't the people holding the pressers aware of what is to be said before they address the media? What do you think her reaction to that specific statement is?

the Chief did not refer to the letter he referred to other calls and info brought forward recently that should have been brought forward in the days just after Abby went missing..... people held back info for nearly a month and a half that they should have come forward with within the first 3 days of the investigation.... none of that was directed towards zenya and the letter she received.....

I think they already know the who (she's with), what (really happened to Abby-she left on her own), why (she ran away), and how (by foot and then eventually by car through older friend), but they don't know where they have gone.

Just my opinion, I have no facts as to why I think this way.

I agree to all that but how in the heck do you square them not bringing her home?

At the very least can't we see some arrests? This has become ridiculous I must say. You don't have to tell me twice not to go visit New Hampshire.

No loss of interest here, I check in first thing every morning and last thing before I close down, hoping for some positive news. None yet, but one of these days, I hope.

if they knew who abby is with we would know.... a suspect is one of the easiest ways to get answers in a missing persons case.... in NH they would not hold that back..... they hold a lot back, but they would not withhold that.....

I kind of agree with that...today. It changes from day to day.

The H side of the family has relatives in different countries and perhaps she is with one of them.

I have felt since the beginning this could be somewhat a custody issue with Abby angry with her mother as young 14 year old girls tend to get.

I would like to believe Abby lives on a beach in Mexico.

But then there are the predators that dwell among us and so I worry...

MOO

LE has not even stated they believe there IS a perp, much less who, other than to indicate she would probably have to be getting help. But she could be with a group of teenagers, for all we know. One would find such a group in any big city. JMO

We seem to be at a standstill. This happens when someone is missing for a long time. We have a few choices here. We can sleuth and brainstorm ideas; we can get Abby's name out there through our own social media sites; or we can bash LE and attack the family. Only two of these will keep Abby's thread open.

If nothing is happening and you're not happy with the way the investigation is going, take a look at some of the other cases on the site. Some go back 50 years or more. It doesn't mean nobody cared or cares, it means nobody's talking. In most of these cases, there is info LE holds tight to their vests and never shares. That's their job. They owe us absolutely nothing.

So we can move ahead respectfully or move on to somebody else.

I think if LE thought telling the public the contents of the letter or postmark would help find Abby they would disclose it. Of course we all want to know what it said but that is just human curiosity. I'm sure they have been in contact with LE from where the postmark is from. . I don't understand bashing police for not finding her yet. LE can only follow what is there. They can't magically make new leads appear and they aren't psychic.

tlcya,,,,Well, then, if it is true she did go willingly she probably looks nothing like her pictures any longer if she is still alive. If she was unhappy at home it would be good for the mother to say so. I don't recall her saying anything either way. Did anyone else?

BBM you are right. I do not recall her saying that Abby was unhappy at home. I wonder what you think would be accomplished by her telling us (the public) that Abby was unhappy at home even if it was true? Does it make people more or less likely to be on the lookout for her daughter? Does it make media outlets more or less likely to be interested in covering/spreading her story? Does it make a just turned 15 year old teen girl any safer or less interesting a case to follow?

As long as mom has been forthcoming with LE about the facts of this case, and there is NO reason to believe she hasn't, she owes us nothing, whether her child left home willingly or was abducted.

Each time a new case appears, especially ones that gets a bit of media, we get new posters, which is great...but some may not know how these cases go and how frustrating it is when there is no news or when they seem to be at a standstill. Sometimes news comes suddenly, and sometimes...well, it just does not come at all. Hoping we have not reached a point where the only news relates to vigils or anniversaries. It can get very depressing, as weeks turn into months or more.

As always, I hope LE is doing what is best. I am sure they are doing what they THINK is best, anyway, though I think the more open LE is with the public when a person is missing, the better the odds of the person being found. I am not a big believer in "protecting the investigation" when a person is still missing. If they knew where she was, or who she was with, they would not be sitting back waiting for her to return, or just quietly working tips. Therefore...IMO, if there is anything they know that might help find her, I think they should share it.

Worry about "the case" later.

JMO of course

good post Clu, I agree with all of it but am trusting that LE has not released to us what they feel is not useful for us to know (ie. us knowing would simply be fodder for speculation but not result in bringing Abby home)

This morning over coffee, I read up a bit on Castro and Freitzl (pardon my spelling) And now, well... I went out and had more fliers printed and got a few more hung up and passed some on for others to hang.

I'll be honest, I don't know how you guys do this on regular basis and for so many. I didn't mean to be 'here' (e.g. this case and worrying about and dreaming about this child coming home). I'm beyond emotionally attached, though I don't have words to explain it I suppose you get it.

PLEASE carry on folks (respectfully, because there are many very delicate humans involved), do some good, get something accomplished whether it is sharing verbally, on social media, hanging posters, watching your surroundings or searching for and sending tips into the FBI!

Once Abby is home, I'm going to go balistic trying to get a new alert system for these kiddo's who are not seen when they poof into thin air. YES I AM!!!

BRINGABBYHOME!

The FBI and local LEs are doing what is best to find and return Abigail to her family. Releasing all the information they have gathered on the case would make that job difficult to impossible. The letter written by Abigail provides excellent evidence, but that evidence needs to remain under wraps for the time being, simply to prevent copycat letters that would make determining the facts more difficult.
