Mom of missing girl seeks accountability (concordmonitor.com)
Harmony Montgomery’s mother is disputing the findings of a report on her daughter's case that was recently issued by Gov. Chris Sununu's office.

That report said child protection workers made at least one attempt to verify that Harmony, a 7-year-old who is believed to have gone missing in Manchester, was living with her mother in early 2020, as Harmony's father claimed at the time.

But at a vigil raising awareness for her daughter’s case at Stark Park in Manchester Saturday night, Crystal Sorey said she never received that call. She said she’s trying to gather phone records from 2019 to the present to show that lack of outreach from the state.

“They didn’t call me to find out if Harmony was with me,” Sorey said. “They solely went off of what this man told them.”

3/4/22 Harmony Montgomery case: Hearing held for father of girl missing since 2019

[..]

A dispositional conference was held Friday in Manchester. During such a hearing, the court hears the status of negotiations between the parties, whether the prosecution has turned over certain information — called "discovery" — to the defense, and whether there are any issues that will likely be litigated prior to trial, according to New Hampshire-based Reis & O’Keefe, PLLC.

Adam Montgomery was not in the courtroom for Friday's hearing, WMUR-TV reported. Both sides need additional time to review evidence in the case, which continues to build over time, according to the local news outlet.

Given that, a plea offer has also not been prepared, prosecutors said.

"There is some discovery, quite a bit of discovery, still outstanding as it’s literally being generated on a daily basis, and for the same reason, the state at this point has not made a plea offer just because as the investigation continues, we don’t want to make a plea offer without a full knowledge of what this investigation may reveal," Prosecutor Jesse O'Neill told the judge.

Harmony Montgomery case: Indictments returned against father and his wife – Boston 25 News
[...]

The girl’s father Adam Montgomery, was indicted on the felony charge of Second Degree Assault, related to the case. The indictment alleges that on July 1 and July 22, 2019 Montgomery “did knowingly cause bodily injury to H.M., a child under the age of 13, by striking her in the face.”

Adam Montgomery’s estranged wife, Kayla Montgomery was also indicted on the charge of Theft by Deception. The indictment alleges that on various occasions between 2019 and 2021 Kayla “represented to NH DHHS that H.M. was a member of the defendant’s household, despite H.M. not being a member of the defendant’s household during that time,” and received more than $1,500 as a result.

Manchester community not giving up on finding Harmony Montgomery (wmur.com)
A small group passed out fliers, ribbons and information on Harmony Montgomery at a Manchester park Saturday as people continue to search for the 7-year-old missing since late 2019.

The group "United to Find Harmony," one of several similar similar groups in New Hampshire, scattered purple rocks with Harmony's name around the park to keep her name fresh in local conversation.

[...]

"We are a little more united than people think we are," Carr said. "The village exists, the village is looking, and we're going to find her"

Crystal Sorey, Harmony's mother, said she appreciates the support and has events planned for April.

"Women like them stepping up kind of re-ignites that for you," Sorey said. "Like, okay, maybe people aren't so bad."

RC doesn't know Harmony or her family, but like so many, she is heartbroken that this little girl has been missing since 2019 and nobody knows what happened to her.

RC is planning a search at an undisclosed wooded area on the city's West Side that she says Adam Montgomery was familiar with.

"It's is a place where homeless encampments have been swept and cleared out, but those are his people," RC said.

She and another volunteer surveyed the site Friday. They say although they're amateurs, they've done their research and are well prepared.

"We've got flags if we find anything, safety vests, tape, gloves and nametags," Carr said as she rummaged through a box in the trunk of her car.

Volunteers are hoping to locate any evidence, like a cell phone that might have belonged to Adam Montgomery or any monogrammed personal items belonging to Harmony Montgomery.

According to RC, the search organizer, a former law enforcement officer will be overseeing this on-the-ground effort.

“We’re not seeing activity from the police and they have limited resources, and if there's something we can do so resources can focus someplace else, we'll do that," she said. "We are not professionals, so that's why we reached out to a former law enforcement officer so we would know how to do this.”
