So I too am originally from Bayonne, I lived there back when the UID was discovered. I had a theory about this a while ago that I posted as a comment of an NJ.com article, but I always thought that somehow this woman was tied to this incident:
Newark hair-braiding salon owner pleads guilty to human trafficking, forced labor http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2009/03/newark_hairbraiding_salon_owne.html.
I read comments from a few other Bayonnites in this thread, they might have some insight into how this might correlate, knowing the area and geography so well. The idea that the UID was from another country would explain the absence of inquiries into her whereabouts from friends/family, and while her hair is not an uncommon style in the area, the correlation between that and the Braiding Salon in Newark also is an interesting commonality.
